T Stands For Voting Day

PLEASE NOTE: If your Second on the 2nd and your T Tuesday post are the same, please link BOTH PLACES.

Tomorrow (or today if you aren't linking until Tuesday) across the United States, we vote (if we haven't already), then wait with anticipation to learn who our next president will be.

Be sure to vote, if you haven't already.  It's too important an election NOT to.

That's why I created these two coasters to remind you of your civic duty.

I even got out one of my green depression glass cups so we could enjoy a bit of tea or coffee together.

Feel free to bring your own drink, because all I can offer you is coffee, tea, or tap water.

Please join me after you have voted.  If you are waiting to vote on election day, please make a plan.  Make sure your devices are fully charged.  Wear comfy shoes and clothes.  Be sure to take an extra mask or two, because you will need to remove or lower it when you eat.  If you live in northern states, layer, layer, layer.  If you live in southern states, wear a hat and take extra sunscreen.  Take an umbrella in case it rains or snows.  If it doesn't, the umbrella will keep the sun off your face.  Take enough drinks, snacks, and food for up to 12 hours.  Take a friend, family member, or colleague.  If you are going alone, I suggest you invest in Depends (or something similar), since you won't be able to leave the line to visit the potty.  Take a book or something to occupy your time.  Whatever your plan, be sure to vote, please.  And if you feel intimidated or unsafe at the polls, call the voter protection hotline at 1-866-Our-Vote.

Now you've voted, it's time to share your own drink related post this week.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, junk mail ads, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.  Feel free to let me know how you voted this year.  I voted by mail and received a confirmation my vote had been received and accepted the next day.

This is Day 3 of AEDM and I hosted a link party that is drink related.

Nice idea with the coasters. I hope and pray that everything will remain quiet during / after the election and that there will be no big trouble. Let's hope things get better! Happy T day, goodnight - off to bed here! Hugs, Valerie

The apprehension we all feel over tomorrow and the next day and on and on is terrible. I hope voters won’t really need to do all the things you mentioned. My ballot has been accepted, which I’m glad of. Our election officials send an acknowledgement after it’s dropped off, which I did. But I’m very worried about the rest of us, especially in states with active voter intimidation and active ballot-discarding.

be well and good luck to us all! ... mae at maefood.blogspot.com

Do you think the lines will be that long?! Thankfully, we were able to mail in our votes. I expect more violence whichever way the vote goes. We're devolving into anarchy. Scary times.

I like your coasters.

Today, it's difficult to say Happy T-Day. Stay safe and stay well. Hugs, Eileen

It is a big day. I will be glad for it to be done, but I am also fearful of what might happen. Keeping my fingers crossed we get a needed change that helps people of this country and not just helps businesses. It is a scary but hopeful time. Love your T day post for this important day. Hope it's a good one! hugs-Erika

Let's hope that the voting will bring as president a capable man. This will be good not only for the US, but for the whole world too.
Great coasters, my friend. And I love your tea cup. It is very similar to one I have and I love to use. Kisses!

Voted by mail. I never thought of depends for being in line--LOL! But that is a real issue. ;) I hope everyone votes, too. :) Sweet page.

Adorable coasters! The teapot with the hat is SO cute.
Yes, voting is so important and a wonderful privilege that we Americans have.
Happy Tea Day,

I really hope the right choice it will be, I heard so much scary stuff in the news. Another 4 years would be like what we have with 16 darn years Merkel. Down the drain. Fingers crossed!

My red with white dots teapot says hi and gets to work in a minute! Weee, they really look the same! I just add it!

Love, love, love your coasters! So bright and cheery, and yes, I'm lifting p my teacup to you too! Today, November 3 is a BIG day, and news channels are already ready with their election coverage. Thanks for all the great tips and reminders, and I'm seeing on the news many outside already standing in line braving the chilly weather to get their votes counted. Be safe and be well, my good friend. Hugs, RO

I brought coffee and will enjoy our virtual visit.

I voted early. You're right about how important voting is -a long fought-for right- and it should never be neglected or taken for granted. I am nervous about tonight, not just about the results but about the threats I'm hearing about intimidating voters and about not bothering to count any votes after midnight. I mean, this is America. We count the votes here :( Scary. I'll be glued to FB, Twitter, and TV coverage as the night passes. I miss the days of live-blogging elections.

Happy T Tuesday!

oops- I forgot to comment when I linked- hubby was off from work yet and we watched The Voice, and then I just forgot:)
Love your coasters-and what a great post regarding the importance of voting!
Love your depression glass- I think I mentioned already that I have some from my great grandmother but they are rose colored.
Happy T day!

Love the coasters and the adorable teapot. Massachusetts allowed mail-in ballots so we voted by mail for both the primary and voted the general election a couple of weeks ago. We were able to track our ballots and they all arrived safely to be counted. Don't forget to wear your pearls today in honor of her Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Happy T Day

Thanks Elizabeth, a coffee for me will be great! Your coasters look fabulous!
I'll be thinking of you, especially having seen a documentary about Big Mr T last night - unbelievable!!
Stay calm today, will you sleep and and stay up all night? Take Care, hugs, Chrisx

Those are great coasters and so appropriate for today. I hope the voting goes well and with none of the long queues you described.
We are all holding our breath to see what the results will be. It must be very difficult to choose. It seems to me you have to choose the 'lesser of two evils'.
Your depression glassware is very special, (and it fitted your colour scheme perfectly).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

That Depression glass tea-cup is lovely! You did a nice job on the coasters.

If you're 18 and over, it's compulsory to vote here in Australia which I see is a good thing as it has a more fair result. Big fines if you don't vote. I think the whole world is watching for the outcome of this election.

ery good tips, all of them. Hold onto your hats.... its going to be a long week.

HI! I went to vote at 11 and had no lines or waiting at all ~ Just walked right in! It was awesome. The early voters had to wait over 5hrs :( where I live so your advice was needed for some. Cute coasters! I never knew in Australia you have to vote, that's interesting. Blessings on your week!

I like your tea pot coasters. I'll be happy when the election is over and the results are known. I still say only the swing states matter, when it comes to voting. Connecticut will vote for Biden, so the outcome here was already known before even one vote was cast.

Think I may go into the kitchen and make a cup of tea!

All the best Jan

well, I live in Sweden so I turned all radio and tv news off. So I don´t have to see or listen until it is over.
I play with color instead and have my cars tires shifted to winter ones.
