If it's Sunday, it's Rocking Horses

 

It's time to share some different rockers.  Today Bleubeard and I are sharing two rocking horse tops as we join Nicole for Sunday in the Art Room or SITAR, and Gillena for Sunday Smiles.  

I've teased you enough.  Today I will show these tops up close.

 

This was a Christmas gift from a friend who LOVES glitter.  Detail photos are below.

I almost didn't join SITAR and Sunday Smiles today.  Friday I went to breakfast with friends and got horribly sick.  I thought it was food poisoning, but no one else got sick. I'm still under the weather and will be in bed or in the loo most of the day.

It's time to share another of my rockers.  There's also a sneak peek.  Today I'm joining Nicole for Sunday in the Art Room or SITAR, and Gillena with Sunday Smiles.  

Here's a sneak peek at the other two windows in my guest bedroom.  At one time, this was a genuine guest bedroom.  Now it's a place to store my rocking horses and a few of my altered books.  I'll show them up close and personal soon.

 

Today, instead of a horse, I have a gifted rocking deer.  It sits on my dresser.  Yes, those are rocking horse shirts in the background.  I'll show them another day.

I apologize for the condition of these photos.  I'm so short, it's hard for me to get up to that level.

I took about 30 photos before I got one that wasn't totally black.  As you can see, the window trim is white, even though it appears black in the above photos.

If you live in the States, my comments won't publish.  I suspect you have noticed that, too.  Nicole was the one who clued me in to the problem.  Please be aware, I visit, regardless.  It appears the only people able to publish their comments live outside the states.  It appears this problem has been corrected.

It's time for me to share a few more rocking horses.  Today I'm joining Nicole for Sunday in the Art Room or SITAR, and Gillena with Sunday Smiles. 

As I explained the last time we visited my guest bedroom, there are over 100 rocking horses in this room.  The first week I showed pillows, the second I showed stuffed rocking horses.  Today I have a mixed bag.

 

Speaking of bags, how about this one with a rocking horse and beaded handles.

 

This is my heaviest and most expensive.  This is solid brass and weighs a ton.  This horse cost $465.00 (USD), but all I paid was the first $45.00.  I placed it on layaway about a month before Christmas right before I moved to Wichita, KS.  When friends asked what I wanted for Christmas, I told them to put whatever they liked to the layaway.  I told the company holding the rocking horse to take the person's name, but not what they donated to the horse.  I had put the entire amount away to buy it, just in case no one left any money.  Nearly a week before I planned to pick up the horse, I got a call from the company telling me to come pick up the horse.  It had been paid in full.  I had the names of the people who contributed money to the horse.  They were all friends I already had gifts picked out and wrapped for them.  I was truly blown away!!!  This was the gift of a lifetime.

 

We are now back to this hand towel.  As you can see, my rocking horses come in all shapes and sizes.  BTW, all my wood is quartersawn oak.

Today we are headed to my front porch.

This is where you will find one of my large rocking horses.

 

Children love rocking in it.

  

It has set on my front porch since I moved to Wichita (Kansas in USA) in 1991.  I am debating adding a coat of varnish to protect it from the inclement weather.

 

Another rocking horse sits on my wicker table.

 

The weather hasn't been quite so kind to this one.

If It's Sunday, it's Rocking Horses

 

Last week my friend Erika, AKA BioArtGal, wanted to see the rocking horses on the bed that weren't pillows.  I'm also joining Nicole for Sunday in the Art Room or SITAR, and Gillena with Sunday Smiles.  

Here are the horses that Erika wanted to see.

 

The lighting in this room sucks, even with the overhead light on.

  

I chose this horse because of its colors and frilly laces.  I thought it went well with the bouquet sitting on the heart box I made from tulle many years ago. I often made corsages for my friends from silk flowers.  

 

Since it's a guest bedroom, the box contains soaps, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, face wash, razors, deodorant, toothbrushes, floss, and feminine hygiene products.  If any guest forgot to include something when they visit me, I hope I have included any personal items they might need.

Right now, I want to show three pillows, starting with this beauty created by a dear friend.

 

I picked this one up one year at a Christmas craft show.

 

I'm not sure where I got this one, but I like how it feels early Americana.
