Treasure Trovember Week Four

 

Blogger is STILL not allowing me to leave comments.  I cannot seem to get rid of the dreaded "Failed to Publish, Try Again Later." Please understand I am very frustrated and hope you realize I DO keep trying.

These are my final entries for Treasure Trovember.  I am SO grateful that you stopped by and let me know, even though I can't reciprocate.

Another year complete.  These are the images I found using the prompts (below) I was given.These are the prompts for Days  23 through 30.

 

The map is of New York, Vermont, and Quebec, Canada.

The number, which I glued upside down, is part of a shipping/packing slip label. 

The beep comes from the truck with the tree on top.

The sign is a 1972 ad from the Wichita Eagle and Wichita Beacon.

Thurston's was apparently a well known department store in Wichita, KS (USA).

The blob came from my pink Posca pen.

The salad and baked potato were from an ad in a 1972 Ladies Home Journal.

The cardinal was from a Christmas card.

Treasure Trovember 2025, Week Three

 

Blogger is STILL not allowing me to leave comments.  ONE comment made it through yesterday and I was dancing for joy until I tried it a second time and got the dreaded "Failed to Publish, Try Again Later." Please understand I am very frustrated and hope you realize I DO keep trying.

 These are the images I added based on the prompts Kelly gave us.

To make sense of the images, here are the prompts I was given for Days 16 through 22.  Explanations are below.

You may find Cascade in many kitchens, although not in mine.  I'm the dishwasher here.

My three triangles were from a rug in a 1972 Home & Garden magazine.

I am terrible at asemic writing and made a big mess by using a yellow Posca pen.

What is better than HOT chocolate?  Box found in a 1975 Ladies Home Journal.

The money was Chinese and from my stash.

Blueberry pie is just sweet enough for me.  Image found in a 1972 Home & Garden magazine.

Blue is one of my favorite colors.  Copper is the other. I used a blue felt tip pen and a stencil to create the circles.

Treasure Trovember 2025, Week 2

 

If you wonder why you haven't heard from me, it's because Blogger has once again chosen to forbid me from leaving comments.  I get "Failed to Publish, Try Again Later."  I DO keep trying ever so often.

It's Sunday which means it's time to share the latest Treasure Trovember installation.

These are the images I found for Week 2 of Treasure Trovember.

Of course, the images would mean nothing without the prompts and my explanation of what I chose.

I chose one of my Rose of Sharon flowers I pressed.

I had trouble with this one (a toy) and finally settled on a spinning globe.

I got a bit carried away with the zig zags I created using a blue marker pen.

The hat (and goggles) pay homage to the fact Wichita, KS is the air capital of the world.

The song was mostly music.

The grunge paper was created using my coffee paper and three glitter crayons.

The party was birthday cakes and candles, which were tiny table decorations I purchased at Big Lots years ago.

The pattern was a dressmaker's sewing pattern.

Treasure Trovember 2025, Week 1

 

For the sixth year in a row, I am playing in Treasure Trovember.

 

I can't get everything on the scanner, so what you see here are the images from Week 1.

These are the Week 1 prompts.

There are a total of 12 grids.  They were all supposed to be 2 7/8 inches square, but I hand cut all of them and some were much smaller than others.

The furniture is a couch.

The basketball bounces.

The man's hands are a body part.

The dots are blue and yellow.

The martini glass is make using gold leafing.

It's obvious the drinks are in glasses.

Treasure Trovember 4 (final)

 

Thanks go once again to Kelly, owner of Collage Lab.  This is a fun November event I participate in every year.  This year, the prompts were found on YouTube.  Day 30's prompt was live over Zoom.  I had a hard time and never did get onto Zoom, even though I added the software to my computer. 

To make matters worse, I lost my prompts when I lost electricity.  I used the previous prompts and added the last ones at the end.

Treasire Trovember 3

 

I am late today because I have been without electricity for 2 1/2 days.  Before you ask, all my utilities are on auto pay, so I knew that wasn't the problem.  The problem was a transformer that blew in the neighborhood.  They thought the problem was fixed and I was online for about 10 minutes when the transformer blew again.  This time, they decided to fix it right!

Here are the images I found in relation to the prompts Kelly gave us.

These are the descriptions of the prompts.

As an aside, Kelly chooses large images, even larger than my vintage woman.  Then she covers over the original images until you can barely make out what the original looked like.  I prefer to show all my prompts, rather than covering over them.  However, I am running out of scanner space because my substrate is larger than my scanner.  Therefore, some of the images are partially covered over this week.

Treasure Trovember #2

 

My sincere apologies to my readers, followers, and lurkers, including my T Tuesday participants and Art Journal Journey.  "Failed to Publish" has returned and it took nearly three days to get many of my comments to publish.  I still have several that still won't publish, and for that, I apologize.

These are the next 7 items I had to add.

Here is the description of the items Kelly had us add each day.  We get the daily prompt every morning.  We have no idea what each prompt will be in advance.

Treasure Trovember 1

 

 This will be my fourth year joining Kelly at Collage Lab for Treasure Trovember.

Here are the items we were instructed to add the first eight days.  I always hate the first day because we have to create a grid.  This year I used foreign text. 

This is the description of the items we had to add each day.  I forgot to add this is watercolor paper, the only time I use it.

Treasurer Trovember complete

 

I've had this finished since 2 a.m., but wanted to share my final AJJ entry.  Here is my Treasure Trovember in its entirety.

Documented prompts 1 through 10. I never got around to changing the word Create until the second set of prompts.  One thing I found difficult was the difference in the thickness of the scrapbook paper and the book pages.

Here is the next set of prompts and the corresponding numbers.

These are the last of the prompts and their respective numbers.  Not sure why # 3 got deleted and ended up on the same line as #4.  For me, any cat makes me happy.

Treasure Trovember, 2023

 

I need to have my head examined.  I signed up again this year for Treasure Trovember, which is a part of Collage Lab run by Kelly.  You get one prompt a day, none in advance. 

Here are the first ten prompts for 2023.  After I printed, I noticed I spelled create as crate.  I have corrected it, but didn't go back and reprint and scan.

I thought I would try something different this year and show the numbers of the prompts.

Obviously, I couldn't get everything on the page because my substrate was a used file folder.

Yes, the folder has been rotated.  I was going to elaborate on each prompt, but decided not to waste your time or mine (grin).

Thanks for joining me for this 30 day event.  Note Bleubeard isn't participating.  He thinks I'm nuts since this takes about 1 1/2 hours a day to find and document each prompt.

 

November, 2022 complete and December already written in

 

November is complete.  I did things a bit different for November, in that I wrote the name of the page I created each day.  Of note is the soldier saluting that is like the one I covered with too much gesso on Veterans Day.  As you notice, I also stamped a food or drink image on every day.  Elle would be proud that I emphasized Scotland's St Andrew's Day.

To honor Jo's snowflake theme at Art Journal Journey, I decorated my calendar accordingly.

As promised, I have completed my Treasure Trovember prompts.

 

 

You can see I've highlighted the final seven prompts, which I will show in close up.  For Day 27, the written prompt was scribbles, but Kelly called it squiggles (not to be confused with my fat younger cat).

I scanned this because I am still having problems getting good photos with this new camera Scott bought me for Thanksgiving.  Because the page is larger than the scanner bed,

I scanned it a second time and didn't bother rotating it 180 degrees.

Now lets check out the final seven prompts.

Day 24: Add some poetry.

This is an abbreviated part of a poem I wrote that was published in a national magazine when I was 11.

Day 25: Add a beverage.

I was very lucky to find this bottle of French wine.  It matches my color scheme, too.

Day 26: Add texture (either real or perceived)

Granted, this is a bit difficult to see because it blends so well with my background.  It's a piece of white plastic from a white onion bag.  I affixed it using E6000 and in order to keep it in place, I had to wrap it over itself.

Day 27: Add some scribbles or squiggles.

Like Kelly, I used crayons, but mine were cheap kids crayons I picked up at a restaurant one year.  Not nearly as bright and defined as they should have been, but I kept writing an "S" using red, green, and blue.  I probably shouldn't have placed them over the shorthand writing, though.

Day 28: Add some stripes.

This pillow was the best example of stripes I could find.

Day 29: Add fabric, lace, ribbon, string, thread, yarn, twine, etc.

I had two tiny bits of excess lace I had dyed (one yellow/orange, one lavender), so added them to the page.

Day 30: Add a monster

I had this image of modern art that sort of reminded me of a monster.  I added eyes and a mouth using a metallic gel pen and called this challenge complete for another year.

 

One final look at this November project.

 

I want to thank everyone for taking time to visit today.  I hope you enjoyed what I did with this challenge.  Even though Kelly is sharing her daily prompts on her web site, she is showing the results on Facebook and Instagram, where I am not a member.  Looks like this is the only place you will see my Treasure Trovember.  I am grateful for your remarks on this project.  Yes, I am color driven, so there are a lot of neutrals and reds, along with a couple of blues.  One thing I can say is I didn't cover over anything like Kelly did, except for a bit of gesso on the tissue paper.

 

Tea V. Coffee

 

I am sorry, but I have no Boxing Day post this year.  

You probably know by now that Bleubeard and I are hosting Art Journal Journey this month and our themes are Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.  Today, however there is no food, but he is offering you a choice of two drinks.  This is all about Bleubeard's idea of collage fodder from items left from other projects this month.  He chose this title because it sounds like two opponents going at each other in court.

Bleubeard found all the collage fodder for this journal entry and offers you a choice of hot tea or iced coffee.

Here are a few detail shots:

When I tried to rotate this 90 degrees, my program shut down.  I tried later

and was able to successfully rotate it.

That meant I couldn't rotate these gorgeous stamps sent to me by Sami either.  But I persisted.

Now you don't have to stand on your head to see these gorgeous Australian stamps.

Bleubeard truly wants you to believe and he swears most everything fodder wise was left over from other projects, many of them this month.

 

Bleubeard and I are overjoyed you visited today and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own take on Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.

Because I was sick, I forgot

 

  Treasure Trovember.

 

I put this off until late tonight, so this is a lousy photo taken from my computer screen.

We begin with Day 15 when we were asked to add something purple.

It's getting so full, and my colors sort of blend together, so I will walk you through this.

I chose a bird for Day 16 (something that flies).   I added gesso on Day 19.  I covered the moon on the tissue paper.  On Day 20, I applied black dye ink to the bottom of a spice jar and stamped it four times.  It was so faint, I went over the circles with a plastic fork dipped in red paint. This proves I am incapable of stamping anything with precision!

Like Kelly, I couldn't get the spray mist to spray, so like her, I dripped my mist on the page.  When I dripped it, the page was rotated 180 degrees and the excess ink went on the table.  Only one small drip made it when I turned the page around.

You can barely see the tiny acorn I added for Day 22.  I thought a dotted line was more dotted than the one I made, but that is what Kelly's looked like, so I did the same.  Mine was more controlled, though.

For Day 15 we were to add something purple.  I colored a circle punch-out purple, but it was faint.  I kept going over it until it actually looked black to me.  That's when I decided to write the word "Purple."

We were to add something round on Day 17.  I was surprised how the circle, cut from a dictionary page, blended so well with the background.

We were to add cross hatching on Day 18.  Kelly put hers on top of each other, but I chose to show each one individually.

For Day 22, I added the tiny acorn you see at the top of the page.

I will share this one more time in case I missed anything.
