I got this meal to go. It consisted of a cheese, mushroom, and onion empanada. It came with a roll and butter, and a side of tabouli (also called tabouleh) salad. Why have I waited so long to share this? I failed to include a drink with the meal. Today I'm going to correct that by sharing several of my favorites.
I know a few people who would agree.
I'm loving all the jokes on this mug. It even extends to the handle which you can see in the previous photo.
And because I can't show favoritism, I have to honor those who have dogs.
I've shown you mine, now it's your turn to share your T entry this week. The rules are extremely simple.
Your drink related post may be anything
from a photo of a
glass, cup, or mug, to an actual drink. You may choose to share a sketch or a digital,
hybrid, or traditional page in your scrapbook, art journal, or altered
book. Maybe you'd prefer to share a tag, or wow us with your photography. You might
choose a postcard or decorated card. You might even draw an image on a used tea bag. Or
perhaps
you prefer to review a place you visited, a movie, or book. It makes no
difference as long as it's drink related. And don't forget that the
more unique and outside the box it is, the better we like it. Please tie
it back here, and pleaselink only to your T post, not your entire blog. When you link,
Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit. Bleubeard
would also like to remind you that your photos may be taken any time.
a drink and a croissant lunch. It's not often I eat at my kitchen table, where there is much less formality.
Let's get my required drink reference out of the way. As you can see, it's grape juice I picked up at Sam's the last time I went. I've still got many and don't want the "best by" date to expire before I can consume all 48 of these. That's the good thing about Sam's. You can buy in lots. It's also the bad thing about Sam's. You must buy items in lots.
I love croissants and picked up too many the last time I was at Sam's. Now I'll be eating them often. I broke this one as I was placing it on the plate. That's when I decided to eat it at my kitchen table today.
This is the last of the pea salad I made using Ranch dressing instead of mayonnaise. I won't make such a large batch again.
While grocery shopping the last time, I stopped by the deli. The lady gave me a sample of this marinated tomato salad. It was delicious. I purchased a pint. When I got home and ate a spoonful, suddenly, my mouth was on fire. It was HOT, HOT, HOT! I'll be eating it sparingly for awhile.
I also splurged and purchased a pint of mixed fruit at the deli. I didn't want to purchase all the ingredients to make it myself.
One final look before I consume this meal and juice.
UPDATE: Lisca asked where my protein was. It's in the tuna salad I made to go in the croissant.

Please join me for T at my dining room table today.
Yes, I am sharing another croissant for T this week.
I also have a recipe I will share with you.
Let's get my drink out of the way. As you can see it's a diet Dr. Pepper. As an aside, Dr Pepper was first used commercially in 1885, created in Waco, Texas by pharmacist Charles Alderton at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store. It became nationally known when it was introduced at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair.
My plate includes
a bunch of red seedless grapes that were on sale,
my cheddar cheese croissant, and
my homemade potato salad.
I'm going to share the recipe today.
Ingredients
5 lbs potatoes (I used Yukon Gold)
16 oz container sour cream
24 oz (1 16 oz and 1 8 oz) containers French onion dip
2 16 oz cans whole black olives cut in thirds
1 dozen eggs, hard cooked and chopped
1 bunch scallions cut in 1/2 inch lengths (I used some from my herb garden)
Instructions
While potatoes are cooking, assemble the other five (5) ingredients.
Mix well. Refrigerate.
When potatoes are cooked, cut to size and refrigerate.
Once cool, add to mix and stir. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Enjoy.
Freeze extra portions.

I had intended an entirely different post today. However, I accidentally deleted the photos from my camera. No way to get them back, no matter what I tried. Here it is nearly T time, so I had to think of something different.
When life gives you lemons,
grab this mug.

Several people have asked me to show the contents of the gift basket I won from The Spice Merchant back in early March.
Let's head to the PBS lobby.
Walk with me to the alternate (side) entry.
Once inside, I signed in, then waited while the receptionist found someone to bring me the gift basket. While I waited,
I took advantage of watching the various shows and stations available.
On the top left is the main/PBS Kansas channel. The top right carries Explore. The bottom left transmits Create. The bottom right is the PBS Kid's Channel (which airs ages seven and under childrens shows 24/7).
Yes, my PBS carries four separate channels. That's why Federal defunding was so devastating here. We are all viewer supported, unlike some states that give millions of dollars, or those that are connected to some major university. My state (Kansas) gives my PBS station $50,000 (USD) a year. You read right. If we get enough new senators and congress people, maybe we can reverse that.
Note the new rules. The Discovery Center is no longer FREE because of defunding.
I'm sure some of you remember when I took you to The Discovery Center and Victor
Hogstrom, President and CEO of PBS Kansas, came in to greet me. This guy is so thoughtful, and goes out of his way to meet with major donors like myself.
But I digress. You can tell this photo was taken back in early March because of the decorations.
Here is part of the Wall of Giving that I was on for several years.
Back in the car, I took a photo of the basket that was valued at $120.00 (USD). To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with it. I ended up giving over half of the contents to Sally, who was more enthusiastic than I. There was lots of shredding that filled the bottom of the basket. What you saw was everything. No hidden pieces below.
I gave Sally the plastic coffee scoop and 1/2 pound of Colombian ground coffee. She wasn't interested in the Breakfast Blend. You might be able to see the biscotti in the bag. I gave her half. You have seen the mug "Scatter seeds of kindness," because I've used it several times.
There was 1 ounce of lavender flowers. Behind it was a rubber like round, flat object that keeps a bowl from sliding on the kitchen counter. I had no idea what it was, but Sally did and because it was pink, wouldn't go in my kitchen. She got that, too.
You can just barely see the cookies. Below them is the pink and blue tea towel I also gave to Sally.
I'm sure you remember the cookies where the chocolate chips were so hard and tiny they would never melt.
The bow was cheesy, but you get a better view of the tea towel because it also has green in it. It's just to the left of the letter "S." Directly above the lavender and to the right of the letter "r," is a rubber jar opener. I apparently gave it to Sally, too because I couldn't find it the other day when I was trying to open a jar.
What I kept was the mug, the lavender, the horrible cookies, and half the biscotti. Sally made out better than I, but only because I insisted she take all that stuff. I gave the basket to my next door neighbor and put the shredding in the compost pile. I don't believe there was any tea in the basket, which surprises me because of all the loose leaf blends they carry.

I'm not sure that square shape would entice me to warm my hands on one of those mugs on a cold morning.
However, the kokopelli really caught my eye. In case you didn't know, Kokopelli is a fertility deity used by some Native American
cultures in the southwestern United States, often depicted as a
humpbacked flute player with feathers or antenna-like protrusions on his
head.

Once again I
would be remiss if I didn't remind you that it's time to dig up
your Second on the 2nd. Any genre, any theme, any length is acceptable,
as long as it has been published sometime in the past.
My sincere apologies. I am still very sick. I thought it was food poisoning, but no one else who went to breakfast with me got sick. And if it was food poisoning, it would or should have passed by this morning (Monday). I promise to visit everyone who visited me on Sunday and for T Tuesday. However, I fear I'll be a bit slow visiting.
Please come with me to The Spice Merchant today, where I show a few different things this week.
I found a few items that can be used in conjunction with your coffee (or tea). There are generic pods for machines that use them. Fill them with your favorite brew and enjoy.
For those of you who have an espresso machine, you might need an extra container for the milk.
Of course, you might also need espresso mugs, a milk frother, a double espresso tamper, reusable coffee filters, coffee spoons, or even clips to store your coffee.
I know Lisca and a few others of you enjoy puzzles.
Here are some
I found while waiting to get my "free" pound of coffee.
I thought these were quite unique.
Some puzzle company put an entirely different spin on puzzles.
Now it's your turn to share your own drink related post. It can be
gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail
art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed
media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is
digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back
to a drink, any drink. Regardless,
please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T
gang will be by to visit. Please link only your T post and not your
blog in general. Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken
any time, not just on Tuesday and most assuredly not just this year.
It may be a week early, but you now have ample time to dig up your Second on the 2nd. Any style, any length, any genre, as long as it has been published sometime in the past.

Bleubeard and I welcome you
Art, including the journey, background techniques, sewing on both paper and fabric, new experiments, photos, failures, and successes will be shared on this site. I have removed my e-mail address until such time as I can get it to work again. Thank you for understanding. You can always leave a note on my blog and I will visit you.
Please check out my Previous Collaborations link above to see what projects I have been involved in over the past 12 years. Current and ongoing projects only are shown below.
Occasionally, Silent Sunday will showcase photos of my home, neighborhood, or community. A picture is often worth a thousand words.
Feelfree to drop by every second Thursday of the month for my Second Thursday Tutorials. They are interspersed with my other Tutorials found at the link page above.

Click on the above image daily and help feed hungry dogs and cats. You can donate cat litter, too. You simply answer two questions (one about cats and one about dogs), and whether your answer is correct or not, you have just donated kibble to help feed both shelter animals and those in need.
I will create the art, critique things I feel are important, and put pen (and sometimes glue) to paper, or fingers to keys, while Bleubeard will mostly watch, supervise, or sleep.
