Madrid

Today we are headed to Spain.  Or more specifically, Madrid.  I'm joining Chris from Pearshapedcrafting, our host this month at Art Journal Journey who wants us to share Where in the World

Madrid is the capital and most populous city in Spain.  It is also the second largest city in the European Union.
This equestrian statue of King Alfonso XII is found in Retiro Park.

Interested in history?

Check out this 550 year old Mendoza Castle.  It is one of the best preserved castles in Madrid and Madrid has a LOT of castles.  At one time, it was the Residential Palace.

Of course, later tonight, I can also share this face I found on a postage stamp with Nicole and her Friday Face Off.  See why postage stamps are so important in my world, Nicole?

I started by combining pink and red Staz-on reinkers and 91% isopropyl alcohol. Once dry, I used my deckle scissors and cut the images I found in travel brochures.  I also found a postage stamp in my stash and this journal page about Madrid was born.

Bleubeard and I are thrilled you stopped by today.  We always appreciate your support for our art.  We also hope to see you at both Art Journal Journey and Friday Face Off

Just beautiful - and that stamp is a winner.

Unlike almost everyone I know, I hated my stay in Madrid some years ago. It was one of the most unpleasant months I've ever spent. But I'm really out of sync with others.

I would love to visit Madrid. That castle looks cool. And that is a great postage stamp too. I like how it works on your page. The fun thing about Chris' challenge is there are so many places to visit; they don't even have to be far away. But Madrid would be fun...have a super Thursday. hugs-Erika

I love the stamp. I am learning Spanish (in fact for four and a half years I haven't missed a day of Duolingo.) But I am focusing on Latin American Spanish.

This is actually a very interesting post. I do love that stamp. My first husband was a Mendoza. I had no idea there was a castle with that name. OMG! 107 at 7PM? I hope you have a good AC. I will check out that other troll park. Have a nice (cool) day today.
