I'm back with another entry for Alison's (aka Craftytrog's) theme at Art Journal Journey. Maybe you know she has chosen Come Fly With Me as her theme.
Various aircraft flying high in the clouds are waiting for ground control to give them clearance to land.
Below are a few detail shots.
Part of this journal page was created when Sharon and I had our play date. The stamps were hers and she let me use her Misti to make sure the planes were stamped properly. The background of 110 lb cardstock, created from Staz-on and 91% isopropyl alcohol was also created that day.
The page sat for weeks and weeks. Last week I was looking through my cancelled postage stamps and I found these two stickers among the stamps. As soon as I saw them, the song Space Oddity came to mind. According to several sources, David Bowie wrote and recorded the song about six months after seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey. These are the first (and main) words to the lyrics. I can't get the song out of my head and I suspect neither will several others of you.
Thanks for dropping by today. Bleubeard and I appreciate it. We both hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own interpretation of Come Fly With Me.

LOL! Now I have that song in my head. :)
Yes, now I have Chris Hadfield in mind and found a gem, hop over, if you like :-)
I would never go into space, though, and to be frank I dread hopping on the planes come end of January...
You put this quite near with your art...!
Love this take on the theme, despite the earworm.
...this Tom prefers to be on the ground!
I hope your rain is letting up so that you can get your yard cleaned up. Having water in the basement is really terrible — we use a downsopot extension too, though we only had seepage, not a flood, before we installed it.
I like the little simple pictures of planes in your collage.

Nice work!
Nice colors. When I saw your page I heard another ear worm. Flying High from the movie Rocky with the song Gonna Fly Now
I do like this. You always come up with the best ideas. Have a great weekend. Check your email.
A cool page.
Thank you for the comments. Your previous comment also WAS publishe👍
Nice page, great idea, and yes, I am singing! My brain is slowly being fried in this heat, I hate it! Hugs, Valerie
I love the sky on this and the planes make for a wonderful background. Do you need any postage stamps? Let me know when you email me about the rubber stamps.
I like how you created a page and related it back to a great old song. That plane on the right looks like it's not in the best position; hopefully the pilot is a skilled flyer. This is a great idea for Alison's challenge. Hope you had a great Saturday. hugs-Erika
This is so fun to see what you did with that page. Great find of those stickers in with stamps. Happy weekend!
Nice one. Lots of Fun.
Happy Sunday.
Much💜love
A great take on my theme Elizabeth! I love it.
I love the background you made - you really should do several of these and stash them away for future use, it is gorgeous. I wouldn't mind knowing how you did it.
A fab page, perfect for Alison's theme at Art Journal Journey.
Hugs, Neet xxx
What a brilliant idea Elizabeth! I will be humming myself to sleep with the song you, hugs, Chrisx
