It's Friday, which means it's time to join Friday Smiles, hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time). Let's visit Annie and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday.
Now it's time to head to the herb garden. Some of you read that the reason I'm so far behind visiting is because I had a flood in my basement. I had to use the shop vac and mop the floor and walls. I then wiped everything down with bleach so I didn't get mold. You might be able to see all the rain that is puddled in the herb garden.
Much to my surprise, I found this bunny rabbit sitting on my newly formed mound that I will spread out with a rake once the mud dries a bit. I couldn't believe how long it sat there while I took a few photos. I shooed it away two days before and now it's back to munch on my herbs again.
I wanted to show the trench I dug on Wednesday before the rains returned on Thursday. We got over 3 inches of rain Tuesday night and over an inch more on Wednesday.
I hoped I had dug far enough because I am a bit tired of shoveling. Note where the bunny has landed. Look for him above the "lo" in my watermark.
I was telling my neighbor about my "woes" with my flooded basement. He said he had just the thing to help me. Imagine my surprise when he came back carrying this hose that he attached to my down spout.
Then I noticed the wind had knocked over a pot on my back table. More clean up because of this rain was in order.
One thing I also did before the rains came was clean up the growth around the fence out back. Unfortunately, it is time to mow again. If only the rain would stop.
And now a few cat memes:
That's it for me this week. Please join Bleubeard and me at Friday Smiles. It goes without saying, but we will anyway, please start your weekend with a big huge smile.

sorry you've had a flood in your basement again, hope there wasn't too much damage. nice of your neighbour to offer help. happy Friday.
That is a LOT of rain. I hope you get no more floods and that the bunny leaves your herbs alone.
...I'm sorry to hear about your basement, we haven't had enough rain for that yo be an issue. That is a lot of digging, in the past I could do that, but not today. Take care and be well.
Oh you poor thing, at least you have good neighbours to help you. What a kind person. I bet the bunny thought it was his birthday! Loving the cat funnies too, very clever. Take care and hope you don't get any more rain, maybe you could send a bit of it to us Lol! Take care and big hugs, Angela xXx
I am sorry you were flooded again. So much eztra work for you, and it makes such a mess. The extra hose was a good idea from your neighbour. A lot of places get flooded around here but fortunately it is rare in the actual village where we have excellent flood drainage now. Hope the herbs survive the soaking.
Well done on the bell pepper. My dad grew cherry tomatoes in abundance. It'sa wonder we didn't all turn red! I always think my own 'harvest' tastes better than anything I buy.
I hope you have no more rain trubles this week. Kate x
wow you are getting lots of rain, we still are not getting any-it will be in the forecast but always misses us.
sorry for the flooding-what allot of work for you-but what an awesome neighbor to help you-
Your herbs are growing nicely now, there seems to be always a little animal that finds our gardens.
Glad you are getting foods from your garden too. hugs
Sorry about that mess in your basement!
Last week some deep-garages flooded, all cars totally broken. Fire-apartment had warned...
Yay for your neighbor helping! And wow on your veggies! Here not even the poppies bloom...
Reckon your herbs are just too yummy for bunny...
it must be a real pain that your basement floods every time there is heavy rain. hurray for good neighbors!
Rabbits! Tell me about them! I grew up with Beatrix Potter books and I know that Peter Rabbit doesn't give up easily. He really is a naughty boy and so is your rabbit I'm sure...
Your cat funnies made me laugh. Thanks.
Have a great weekend,
hugs,
Lisca
I am so sorry about your flooding. What a difficult task. I hope you get back to 'normal!'
Sorry to hear about your basement woes. I hope the hose from the downspout will take care of your problem. Very cute bunny and your garden looks very inviting and peaceful.
Good that you have help from your neighbour, hope it will soon be back to normal. Nice that your garden is giving you food. Happy Friday, hugs, Valerie
So many smiles today:)
I've never seen a pepper that dark. Is it sweet?
Your weed pulling around the fence puts mine to shame, though I did get a small section of it stained this week. It whooped me:)
Have a lovely weekend, dear Elizabeth.
I'm very late getting round to visit this week....I've made 7 memory bears today and still have another waiting to be made!!
Sorry to hear about your flooded basement but good to hear you have neighbours to help you. Love your garden produce.
Hugs,
Annie x
Beautiful pepper!
Sorry to read you had a flood in your basement. So good that your neighbour helped you out.
Here in the UK many areas need more rain ... in fact we are hoping for some tomorrow ... time will tell if we do have some.
Your pepper looks a good size and your herbs are growing nicely.
All the best Jan
I love your purple pepper (did you plan to grow a peck of them?) and that sweet bunny. I hope he keeps his teeth out of your veggies! It's lovely.
