Winter Park

Bleubeard and I are here with a final entry for our recycle, reuse, repurpose theme we are hosting this month at Art Journal Journey.  I actually had hoped I wouldn't have to share this, but I didn't have time to make anything newer.

You don't have to tell me.  I KNOW this is a lousy photo.  Bleubeard and I named it Winter Park.

We also have details.

This is what happens when your pink Posca pen potties (say that three times fast with a straight face).

I didn't intend for this to take on a Christmas theme, but the pages just took over and I somehow allowed it to happen.

I got tired of looking at fuzzy photos, so I scanned parts of both pages.

The book is too large to get the entire spread in one scan.  This is the left side.  I like the colors of this, too.  Much closer to the colors of the page.  This spread was created in my Stress Free altered book.

Everything on this page was repurposed or recycled. I got the map several years ago when I took a trip to Florida (USA).  The green background paper was cut from some I made previously using 12 inch square originally white scrapbook paper.  The Christmas paper and ribbon were left from a spread I created for Christmas last year.  The same is true for the geometric design paper.  The postcard and Yuletide images shown below were cut from an old magazine.

The right side contains a dry embossed Christmas tree and a stamped Christmas tree left over from my Christmas cards I made one year.  I tried to clean up "Winter Park" after the Posca pen leaked.

Thankfully, if you look closely enough, there were several references to Winter Park, such as Winter Park Village, Civic Center, Campus, Tech, and Country Club.

Bleubeard and I are so incredibly happy you joined us this month as we recycled, reused, and repurposed trash, junk mail, paint chip, wallpaper, and window blind samples, tea bags, corrugated cardboard, security envelopes, and postage stamps.  We hope we have given you some ideas and you look differently at what many would consider junk or trash.

We also thank each and every one of you for your wonderful art you have created.  We have been blown away by your recycling efforts and creativity and for that we thank each of you.  You have NO idea how grateful we both are that you shared your recycled art and your great comments this month.

The overall effect is wonderful. I really like this display - but I like things involving maps and the like.

Christmas cards really do offer a big recycling opportunity. I’m happy to say most of my friends now send email greetings if they send anything at all. So I don’t have a challenge of a lot of paper that I don’t want to save.

I actually really like this spread and maybe the holiday theme is a bit out of time, but this page has great color, texture and details. I think it's a great way to wrap up April. It's perfect for a recycle theme. It's been a great month too; have a super last day. Hugs-Erika

I especially like the trees. All the smaller elements come together so well.

The Christmas card tree is very pretty. We're still in chilly weather. I'd be happier if you were showcasing a Summer park. 😺

Nice piece, good way to recycle a Christmas card. Ponk Pisca pon patties - easy! I, too, am way behind in everything, but at least I have my piece for tomorfrow ready to go, that's something. Hows is Sally doing? Hugs, Valerie

Gorgeous pages and I loved how you recycled everything for your page, it's a beautiful design! Thanks so much for the fabulous theme over at AJJ this month too, I've created pages but just haven't had time to share them with everything that's going on. I've enjoyed being inspired and many thanks for hosting too 😊. Happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x

I have never used a posca pen but I'm thinking about getting one. Kate was showing me hers and I think I could make good use of it. A nice piece and way to go with the holiday cards!

This page is absolutely beautiful Elizabeth! I really like how you have combined the background with all those beautiful elements. The Christmas tree is perfect! It is a subject that, as you say, arises when you least expect it. Thank you very much for your inspiration on AJJ.
Happy Monday and big hugs
