The Good Cook

Today Bleubeard and I have heard your requests as we begin to wind down our month hosting Art Journal Journey using our recycle, reuse, repurpose theme.

You requested and Bleubeard has responded.  This is his contribution this month.

He has asked me to share a few detail shots, too.

Bleubeard began by digging out one of my staz-on and alcohol pages I created when Sharon and I had our play day.  The page is 110 lb cardstock.  Using his paws, he then delicately pounced a cosmetic wedge with dye ink through one of my stencils.

After taking time to clean his front paws, he found the recyclables he was looking for.  First up was the heavy cardboard on which had come my cheese slicer.  Bleubeard knows that cheese goes well with apple pie.  He found a sticky backed image I had removed from an apple pie I bought years ago.  Being careful not to get his paws in the sticky back, he somehow managed to secure the image to the page without getting fur on the page or his paws.  He then went to the book on apples that was falling apart, and asked me to cut the page in the book he had chosen.  He also found the word "the" in my basket of words and colored it with dye ink, making sure he kept his paw clean.

Bleubeard wants everyone to know the cheese slicer holder, the apple pie sticker, the recipe, and the word were all recycled.  The stencil was old, while the cardstock (background) and dye inks were new.

Bleubeard hopes you enjoyed his contribution to our recycle, reuse, repurpose theme at Art Journal Journey.  He and I both hope to see you there, too.

Please tell Bleubeard he did a great job but made me all hungry!
I searched "desperately" for stuff we recycle in art or use... but found nothing suitable!
I found all the snippets I got from magazines, but my brain is blank!
Maybe it recovers and I can join you with this very important theme after all.
Does "Öko" Peter Lustig count? ;-)
My parents rather considered him a weirdo, as many people in Germany back in the day. "Why care for nature?" M-hm....

Sounds like a great pie, I've never heard of chess crumb topping although I do know that apple pie can be served with cheese as it's our American friends favourite 😊. Such a great page, thanks for sharing! Happy Friday and weekend! Hugs, Jo x

He is one crafty cat! And a tidy worker, too, keeping those paws clean.

Bleubeard and you are so very clever. I never would have thought to pair blueberries with apple for a pie. I'll have to keep that in mind.
