We have a new host today at Art Journal Journey, as we always do on the first day of the month. This month we welcome my friend Valerie of Bastelmania. And I assure you, this theme is going to be a favorite of nearly everyone. Her theme is Anything Goes. That's right. Create journal pages of your choice. You have no excuse if you create any journal art at all. Now's the time to start if you have been considering, but couldn't come up with an idea because the theme or prompt was too restritive.
I wasn't quite sure what to call this first entry of March, so I finally decided on The Numbers Game.
I have a few detail shots to share.
I think you can see where I acquired the name of the journal page. It also shows how messy the entry is, from the background to the gifted die cut. That means I can also share this with the lovely ladies at Try it on Tuesday (TioT).
If I am correct, and I know others will correct me if I'm wrong, I believe this is an American robin.
Further, because the robin has a face, I'll also be joining Nicole and her Friday Face Off Thursday night.
I started this journal page using several of my handmade shimmering mists on 110 lb. cardstock. While the mists were drying, I fussy cut the bird from a calendar page I had been given. After adding the bird to the page, I added the gifted numbers and letters die cut, which also had mists applied. I then added my date stamp.
Bleubeard and I hope to see you at Try it on Tuesday and Friday Face Off.
Valerie, Erika, Chris, Bleubeard, and I
are delighted you joined us and hope to see you this month at Art Journal Journey to see how you interpret Anything Goes.
We
welcome art journal pages that meet the theme requirements,
altered book
pages, canvases, loose, or stand alone pages including fabric and
digital art. We cannot leave comments on Facebook or Instagram entries. We do not allow cards, tags, index cards, ATCs, or ATCoins, unless
they are
part of a journal page, and as much as we don't want to, will be forced
to delete your entry. Please remember if your
blog is not in English, you must either provide a translation tool or
translate it for us. Hope to see you soon at Art Journal Journey.
I
am still getting a great deal of "Failed to Publish" notices. If I know the
blogger's e-mail address, I let them know that way. Otherwise, I try to
leave a message on the host's blog if I'm in a blog hop.

I am in love with your journal page Elizabeth, awesome background for your page too.
Beautiful page, Elizabeth!
Oh, and since ... I think last Friday already! - I hear the birds "counting" outside :-)
LOL, thank you for this thought!
Lovely background for the bird, and a great page, hugs Wendy
Fabulous bird page, love the speckled background reminiscent of birds' eggs. Thanks for this lovely page! Hugs, valerie
I absolutely love your gorgeous page, Elizabeth! I really like the title you came up with, too. It's perfect! All of your details are amazing, from the numbers die cut, to the lovely background, and I especially like your beautiful robin. Oh, and the date stamp --- I LOVE that detail!!! Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. Hugs, Sharon
Lovely art and great harbinger of Spring: the robin. :-)
Happy March Elizabeth. I think you must be thinking of spring also since you used that robin. I think that robin is counting the days until we change the season. Smile. I like this page a lot, and I'm glad you also decided to link up to TIOT. Thank you. I hope March starts off in a good way. And maybe spring like too. hugs-Erika
Kudos to you for using an American Robin! It is the traditional harbinger of spring and many people in the northern states and Canadian provinces will be keeping a sharp eye for the first one to show up on the lawn. Then - whatever the calendar says - whatever the weather - spring is here!
Beautiful page for the new theme.
Really love this AJ page with the robin! I'm so ready to start seeing these guys come out soon over my way and I know when I start seeing them that Spring is right around the corner! Love the wonderful shimmery spray background with him too! Looking forward to playing with this month's challenge!
Love your page Elizabeth! i like the well spattered look! Did you know the white circle around a Robins eye is a sign that it is still a juvenile? Hugs! deb
This is a beautiful page Elizabeth. I am so looking forward to entering this month with this great theme by Valerie.
Hugs, Neet xxx
Elizabeth, I love this first journal page for March! The background is wonderfully Spring like for our great American Robin. And I also love that numbers and letters die cut! Adding it to this page adds a lot of interest and imagination.
That is a wonderful page with pretty Bird and background!
Have a good week, Hug Elke
This really is a fabulous page - I love the spatters and I still find it interesting that the European Robin is so different from the American Robin. Thanks for joining us at Try It On Tuesday too, Hugs, Chrisx
Nice robins! Here in San Diego where we are visiting from the Midwest, they have a huge and unusual number of robins that they have never seen before. And we think robins are pretty ordinary, though nice birds!

Yay, Val. Woot. Woot.
Elizabeth, I love, love, love your robin piece. Purrfect.
love this birdart :)
I love your robin and the shimmering mists are a perfect background. It adds such interest!
A fantastic splodgy background for the beautiful robin. Thank you for joining us over at TioT's Elizabeth, one of these days I might get to read all your posts and not always be catching up.

I love the background. It makes this so artistic.
LOVE the homemade mists!!! And that Robin, we need to see these in Southern Ontario soon, as I need to see Spring! Lovely spread! Thanks for sharing at Try it on Tuesday!
...I'm counting the days until I see my first robin!
A beautiful page Elizabeth! I love the bird on that inky background.
Hi Elizabeth. I am getting failed publishing too for comments if I am on Mozilla. I do all of my comments with google browser and have no trouble at all. I am getting your comments. As for your art today. I truly like this bird and the way you incorporated the numbers. Brilliant. Have a lovely day today.
As I am also a birder, of course I love this one :)
Fabulous spray look in the background and I love the bird. The numbers have stumped me but I am sure they have some super cool meaning. You are so creative. Hope your blogger issues resolve soon. Hugz
