Today I have my final page for Valerie's theme Anything Goes at Art Journal Journey. I've had such a wonderful time with her theme and I wish we had another week or two because I feel like I have finally hit my stride, just as the month is winding down.
Bleubeard and I want to thank Valerie for being such a good host. She is often the first to visit and leave a kind comment. She has also given us many wonderful and inspiring art journal pages, too. Thank you Valerie for not only being such a great host, but also an integral part of Art Journal Journey.
It is definitely Black and White. Since there are faces on the journal page, tonight I'll also be joining Nicole and her Friday Face Off. I even have a few detail shots.
I started with a sheet of black 140 lb. cardstock. I looked through my large stash and found a few black and white items to add to the page. I used my white Posca pen to write the words and draw the white line around the outside of the page. I kept forgetting to shake the pen, which showed that it wrote better in some areas and not in others. I started to write over the areas that were faint, but realized I would make a bigger mess if I did.
Thanks for stopping by today. Bleubeard and I hope you enjoy your weekend. While you're here, please drop by both Art Journal Journey and Friday Face Off.
EDIT: Gillena explained her link and what is expected, so I am joining this week for the first time. Please also visit her blog. You'll recognize lots of friends there, too.

Smiling.
We didn't get a TV until late, but it was most definitely black and white (which probably shows my age).
Lovely page, I love black n and white! Thanks for your support this past month! I visited the cat and will not forget! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
I remember those old black and white and tvs and I remember when my grandparents bought the new color tvs-one had to adjust the colors with the knobs-they always messed that up big time and my father had to fix it--great page
I can still remember the black and white TV we had at home.
I certainly remember the old black and white TVs (and black and white photos). We eventually had one of those huge cabinets with a black and white TV, high fi record player, and AM/FM radio before we got our first color console TV when I was in Junior High. Was thrilling to see color!! :)
Nice last page for AJJ this month Elizabeth. That's a great collection of black and white images. And you are definitely correct about Valerie. She is more than just a great host. Hope you have a lovely Thursday. hugs-Erika
Fun page. The television made me think of the black and white we had. When you turned it off the picture went down to a white dot. The Brother and I had a rule that you had to watch until the dot went out.
I remember our black and white tv :) It was in one of the 50s cabinets with doors. Eventually the cabinet got converted for use as a china cabinet. My sister still has it.
Your black and white page made me think of black and white movies... I have to be in the right mood but i do love them..just like your page! Hugs! deb
Really nice, the month has passed so quickly!
I hate it when the pen blobs up. I remember TV's like that!
Yes, our first TVs were black and white, too. Three programs (plus an East German channel).
Very good approach! But gah on the pen!
Hi Elizabeth! I love your black and white page. I especially like your TV which reminds me of my childhood. I remember it was SUCH a big deal when color was added to TV viewing!!! And I want to thank you for visiting my blog, too. Your comments meant the world to me. I cannot believe that this is the last day of March already! Where did the time go this month??? Thanks again, Bleubeard and Elizabeth, for everything. Hugs, Sharon
...I remember when the world was black and white. Our first color TV was such a big deal. Elizabeth, I wish you a wonderful weekend.
I still like watching the old black and white movies.
I remember well when television was only black and white. In fact, I remember when a neighbor got a color tv and we would visit to watch "Batman" so we could see it in color.
Oh I love this so much. The black n white TV brought back so many memories. I know I have said this before, but I will say it again. I love where your creative mind goes when you make art. Thank you for joining FFO and have a lovely day.
Your idea is great, Elizabeth. It brings me sweet memories as I married 7.7.1963 and we bought our first TV and it was black and white 📺😄
Have a lovely start to Apri 💚🥀🌱
Great images, and they make a great page.
Enjoyed your TV faces scribbles and lines. Its good when one gets in the mood and allows the art muse to flow.
Thanks for linking to Art For Fun Friday. Hope you had fun visiting and connecting to others at tge linky also
Much💜love
That's a very cool page you created, Elizabeth. Our first TV was black & white and many movies and/or series I remember just in Black & White. It would probably be disappointing to watch them in color.
I guess if I own up to having a black and white TV when I was younger, I will be admitting how old I am ... but it is true, we had black and white TV long before we had color Televison. One might think that everything was black and white in those days ... simple and understandable and with some sense of value ... Times have changed and are far more colorful than I like. And, who do you know that writes in the French language? This was a simple piece of art and yet it stirred so many memories and thoughts. I guess that makes it beautiful art, Elizabeth. Well, done ... and hugs to Bleubeard before I go :)
