It's once again time to join Erika our host this month at Art Journal Journey. By now you may know her theme is RED.
For lack of a better title, I am calling this RED. Nothing else creative came to mind. I'll share a few detail shots.
I started this page with the background, where I mixed a red Staz-on reinker with 91% isopropyl
alcohol, then spread it on the white 110 lb cardstock using a makeup sponge. Once dry, I stamped a home made stamp (I used three strips of red rubber, cut from excess rubber I was mounting on wood) a bit randomly on the page using two colors of red dye ink. These are good examples of cool (blue) red and a warm (orange) red. Then I found various disparate images that "read" predominately red. The word RED was computer generated and printed on red copier/printer paper.
Thank you for your visit today. Bleubeard and I are overjoyed you chose to visit. It means a lot to us. We also hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own take on the color Red.
10 thoughtful remarks:
Yes, "Red" summarizes it well.
Hope for freedom, hope for health, for not spending money to get to Mars but fight HIV, cancer...
A strong page!
Those sets of 3 lines for your background look like they came from a homemade stamp. Did you make one? Using a flag is a great idea since I hadn't thought of that one. Red is also a good name. Sometimes they don't need really creative ones to say what they are. I like this, and I want to thank you again for joining in. It is, as I have said, appreciated. Have a nice Saturday. hugs-Erika
Perfect for the Presidents Day Weekend.
...I love the color red, but in the US red is all too often associated with gun violence.
I love this Elizabeth - the different shades look great as stripes.Great idea to add the flag! I can see you are enjoying Erika's AJJ theme as much as I am.(who knew I would like red so much?) Hugs, Chrisx
