Young Love

I'm having trouble leaving comments on some blogs, mostly those with embedded comments.  I keep getting "Failed to publish.  Try again later."  When I try later, I get the same response.   Blogger is throwing a fit and I am the recipient, apparently.

Enough about my woes, though because I'm joining Chris at Pearshapedcrafting today with her When We Were Young theme at Art Journal Journey.

Be aware, I will be working my neighborhood clean-up today, so it may be quite late before I visit your blog.

Let's talk about first loves.

Jimmy confessed this was his first love.  Was six too young to know?

His first girlfriend.  Does he even remember her today?

He was so proud to be sitting next to her.

I began this 110 lb cardstock journal page by thinning Payne's Gray fluid acrylic with about half water.  I then used a round brush to create the swirls that were soon covered with the focal image.  I also added a green fluid acrylic that I didn't water down, but splattered on the page.  When completely dry, I added the focal image which I found in an old magazine, and various black buttons on each corner I adhered using E6000.

As an aside, it has been too hot to leave my office to make art in my craft room.  As a result, the two "boys" (aka Bleubeard and Squiggles) have shared the space with me.  Now you know why I don't allow cats in my craft room.  Seems I captured some cat fur under the words "Age 6."

Bleubeard and I are thrilled you chose to spend a bit of time with us today.  We hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own take on When We Were Young.

Lovely - as always. And yes, I wonder whether they remember each other too.
I am sorry that you are still having commenting issues and thank you for your perseverance.

I always copy what I wrote as comment.
Some blogs require several attempts. Blogger, huh?
2006 - my Brother wanted to comment on my blog. His English is more than rusty.
I got a mad phone call - his comment went into somewhere!!! It took him so long!!! (That was before Deepl etc).
I said, always STRG C so you can try again. He never did....

Cute pic.
My first boyfriend´s name was Thomas. Hence my Brother´s second name is that also.
In church at the wedding the pastor mixed the names up and asked if "Thomas" was to marry... uhhh... my bad, LOL!
I have never seen this one Thomas again. he had brown, curly hair and knocked at our door to walk to school together.

LOL on the cat fur! :-)
One day... I´ll have a cat or two!

Hi Elizabeth, this is a nice page, with fond memories of childhood days. I fell in love with a boy called Bruce who sat next to me at school. We wanted to get married, but the teacher said we were disgusting and moved us to different sides of the classroom. And that was the end of the love! At 5 it's not a good idea to choose a life partner! I have to comment on some blogs with 'anonymous' instead of name, strange! Hugs, Valerie

This is a so lovely page Elizabeth ! Love the story, yes, they perhaps remember each other, why not, they could be good friends today.
Hope your internet works well today.
I wish you a great weekend, and send big hugs

Sweet page. I had a crush on a boy in my class. If I had to walk home, I walked by his house even though I didn't have to go that way. Years later at a reunion, I told him I had had a crush on him. He said he had a crush on me!

I get that commenting problem from time to time. I found it helps if you reboot your computer. Otherwise, the computer will show you the page you are visiting from the cache instead of a clean download.

I love this page Elizabeth, a sweet memory of childhood. I had a few crushes, but no boyfriend until much older.
Hope Blogger sorts out those problems soon.
Have a good weekend,
Alison

such a cute photo, and story to go with it...love the journal page. sorry to hear you're having trouble leaving comments. It's seems awfully easy to fall behind on what these platforms want! I feel pretty clueless. hope you get it figured out. Hope you can enjoy some cool weather soon. Ohio has been in the 70's the last couple of days!

I still remember my first crush. I never, ever told him.

Have fun cleaning up your neighborhood! I think that's awesome.

Sorry to hear that you too are still battling with Blogger. I still get a read only box on some blogs (mr linky seems to do that ), on some I comment as anonymous and others want me to go on a loop of signing in to google and getting nowhere. While my old tablet still works I use it and Chrome to comment and at the moment that works!
I adore this first love page....and the cat hairs! Hugs, Chrisx

This is such a cool old photo, and I like how you used it Elizabeth. The buttons make great photo corners-I am going to remember that trick.I also like how you didn't add other colors and left it neutral. It makes the whole page work together in a very good way. Hope your weekend is going well. Hugs-Erika
