Monday Murals: The underpass

It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals.  Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.

Give a Wichita muralist an underpass and you will find a few beauties.

Because these are a bit hard to see from this angle, I have taken a photo of each panel.

It's obvious these panels were created in 2007, long before Avenue Arts Days.  They are not listed anywhere I could find and there is no information on who created them.  They are located under the 1st Street train underpass in Wichita, Kansas (USA).

If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.  Thanks for stopping by to visit Bleubeard and me today, too.

I like this one. The robots are great, and I really like how this was designed using rectangles and squares. They remind me of images you see in some prairie architecture, like in door designs and windows. Happy Sunday! hugs-Erika

Fascinating patterns. Being greeted by robots certainly beats the usual boring stark concrete underpasses.

I love the limited color palette (always have to look up which way to spell that). I would have guessed it was made of inlay wood. So neat.

Underpasses are such a great place to paint a mural... My town has alot of murals around town... most of them are painted by a one armed artist! She puts mice in the paintings for people to find.. I'll have to take some pics and post them... maybe when Fall rolls around.. 105 predicted today.. uuughh.. Hugs! deb

...this robot mural sure is interesting. Underpass murals can be quite a challenge to photograph, you nailed this one. Thanks for sharing Elizabeth.

I like this series a lot, Elizabeth. It looks like it is well lit. We have an underpass mural here that isn't lit at all and it really is sort of like "what was the point?" Unless you are in the far end of the line stuck for the light and are just sitting there, you really don't even notice it.
