Springtime in the Washington DC tidal basin

I'm joining Valerie at Bastelmania, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.  Her theme is Spring.

Today we are celebrating springtime in the tidal basin just as the cherry blossoms begin to bloom.  I have a few detail shots I'll share.

I found this beautiful card of the tidal basin in Washington D.C. just as the cherry blossoms were in bloom.  I first covered 110 lb. cardstock with pink scrapbook paper.  I used a stencil to create the dots on the paper and on the computer generated sentiment.  I then added the focal image and four vintage gold photo corners.  I hunted high and low, and finally found two gifted postage stamps showing the same scene as the card.

Bleubeard and I are delighted you joined us and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own take on Spring.

So beautiful, and the background is wonderful, too.
Can´t wait for them here, just the next street will be full of them!
I have a little Polaroid picture of them right here at my PC.

One of my favorite photos is one that I took at the tidal basin when the cherry blossoms were at their peak. The crowds are incredible, but it’s still fun to walk around and look at the flowering trees on a sunny day.

This is beautiful Elizabeth. One day I want to visit DC when these cherry blossoms are around. It must be amazing. I love how you not only have a photo but the postage stamp too. And yes, I had a nice birthday. I spent the day making art and then we had take out Mexican food and cake for dinner. And my daughter is home for the weekend. I had to make a little space to get into the bed in that room, but she can deal with it. It's not too bad. Have a great weekend, and thanks for sharing this great page. Hugs-Erika

I need to check our local park's cherry trees. I wonder if they're blooming yet...

This is beautiful! My son lives near DC and works just 2 blocks from the White House, so he has seen this. They are so much warmer than us notherners!

I enjoy all of the seasons, but spring is the most hopeful for me, after a cold winter.

I've never really been to D.C. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be there at cherry blossom time?

A beautiful page and photo, the reflections in the water look lovely, a spring scene, that I think we would all like to visit in real life.
