Monday Murals: I see T

It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals.  Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 10:01 a.m. my time today.

It's obvious this is called i.see.t

At first I didn't quite get the meaning behind the title, but the images inside each of the aviator glasses is iconic Wichita, Kansas.  Then I realized i.see.T stands for ICT, or the Wichita, Kansas airport call sign.  For those of you who have been around my Monday Mural posts awhile, you have seen the Keeper of the Plains in the upper left eyeglass.  The other image is the bridge that connects both sides of the river with the Keeper.  The right side of the aviator glass honors our brand new airport which was unveiled in 2018.

The middle left eyeglass represents the fact that Wichita is the air capital of the world.  The right eyeglass shows Clifton Square, the shopping center where this mural is located.

The bottom left represents the clock tower in the Douglas Design District, where Avenue Art Days originated.  The bike represents our love of biking in Wichita, and I doubt I have to tell you the flag is the flag of Wichita.

The bottom right represents Wichita's skyline with the center image representing Century 2, the iconic beauty the city originally wanted to raze and put in something new.

This mural was created in 2019 by Ellie and Maggie Newlin.  I have shown their work before, recently in fact (October 17), when they created BE-YOU-TIFUL.  This is definitely an Avenue Art Days project unveiled in 2019.

It is located on the side of the Teahouse in Clifton Square, a unique shopping center in Wichita, Kansas (USA).

If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.  Thanks so very much for stopping by today.

For Day 7 of AEDM, I photographed a mural and joined a link up party.

Oh, I should ... will show it to my Bro - he´s an optometrist and how about bringing our home town into this "fashion"?
Great idea!

Those are really fun murals. How smart to put those scenes of Wichita inside some eye glasses.I didn't know Wichita's airport abbreviation, and now that I do, this is even more clever than if you hadn't explained that. This is one of my favorites you've shown dear Elizabeth. Hope you're having a great weekend. Hugs-Erika

Now here I am admiring the shapes of the glasses,(lol) but there's cool meanings associated with them. You find the most awesome stuff, Elizabeth! Sending lots of hugs, RO

Great mural!

You wrote me that tiramisu had not made it to Wichita. I felt challenged, so I googled a bit and did find a restaurant that has it on the menu. Maybe it's a restaurant that you would never want to go there, I'm just looking out of curiosity. It's called Angelo's and it mostly has pizza and typical Italian-American dinners.

Wichita is a lot bigger than I thought! Here I thought it was maybe 10,000 or so folks! No wonder you have so much good stuff there! WOW! I was thinking, that place sure has a lot for such a small town, and then I looked up the population!!!

What a creative way to highlight your city. I am always drawn to anything with glasses. And now I know the airport letters for Wichita.
