Welcome to Friday, everyone. It's time for Friday Smiles which is hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time). Let's join her and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday.
Here it is a week later. I almost let it get too old before I took a photo. My favorite is the bud, though.
What a difference a week makes. I planted this Italian basil last week at this time. The rain that has kept me from mowing has done wonders for my herbs, though.
Three of the four peppers that came in a four pack are still alive. I can't say they are thriving, but they are alive at least.
Two of the five squash seeds I planted have taken off nicely. The other three apparently didn't make it.
Only one of four tomato plants survived. It doesn't look that healthy, but at least it is hanging on.
Dill, dill, dill, and a pineapple that may not make it, are on my table. Now I just need the grass to dry out so I can mow it. That would really make me smile!
Now let's join Annie (at A Stitch in Time) and the lovely ladies who join her for Friday Smiles. Thanks again for visiting and spending a bit of time with Bleubeard and me this Friday.

Wow, the color of your flower sure has "adapted" - a lot of yum on the way in your place! Here still too cold for anything. Buuuut... the sun peeks out.
Your pots are all looking good, well done, what a difference a bit of rain makes. But I had to think of the poem 'Isabella, or the pot of Basil',from Keats, which we had to read at school. It was fascinating but ghastly at the same time! Have a fun day, hugs, Valerie
I love how the roses change colour as they develop. We have several coming into bud now and they never fail to make me smile. It looks like you’ve even very successful with your herb growing....I’m sure you will harvest lots later 😀
Hugs,
Annie x
I’m partial to Basil, it doesn’t last long in this house. It’s good to see things popping up now isn’t it. I’m obsessed with all the gardening programmes on telly at the moment
Have a good weekend
Lynn xx
Ooooh.
I can just about smell those delicious herbs through the screen. Which IS making me smile.
Thank you.
That is a beautiful rose, but like you, I prefer the bud.
You certainly like your herbs and they are doing very well. The rain brings everything off as long as the pots can drain. We have had more rain this week, (unexpected this late in May) and next doors land that was rotivated a couple of weeks ago, is showing weeds sprouting all over it again. My plants are enjoying the rain and I am happy to not need the hose out every couple of days.
I am happy to say I have no grass to mow. It doesn't grow well here, except for a very tough, broad leaf variety, so our yards are tiled. Some of our friends have laid artificial lawns but we don't want that. Looking after all my pots is enough for me now. Kate x
The rose is gorgeous. Looks like your garden is doing well. You certainly have a green thumb. I hope it dries out so you can get your lawn mowed.
The plants look great. I could tell your basil. It is popping up nicely. The only seeds of mine popping up right now are some sunflowers I planted. I love seeing all your plants enjoying the warm ( I am guessing) Kansas sun. You'll have a great container garden soon I bet. Have a super start to the long weekend. Hugs-Erika
I've never had roses, though I did grow up with them. I can smell the lovely scent of yours. That color is gorgeous!
All those herbs inspire me to branch out, and I've never tried growing them from seed. Your garden is doing so well!
Look at all that growth. I need to get some smells mint:)
Hope your weekend is as special as you are:)
I'd be smiling big with those roses! And things are really coming on and growing well. I love it! Happy weekend!
Hi Elizabeth, sorry I'm late today but been out fish hunting and we now have two new pond members. I love roses but it's sad how quickly the flowers fall from the gorgeous bud to falling petals but they're worth it. It's good to see your plants doing so well too. Wishing you a very happy weekend, Angela xXx

My goodness, the color of that rose 🌹is so vibrant! I had no idea that there were different flavors of mint, so I need to try to find those. Your plants 🪴are standing strong. Hope you are doing well, and Happy Friday! RO 🥰
Most everything is coming along very nicely! :)
