T Stands For a Rose With My Coffee

You will find me at my dining room table today.  I'm calling on my Coll-AH-ge Two altered book for my drink inspired post this week.

I'm drinking coffee and sharing this single flower in my coffee cup.

The single flower is for Sheila, aka Orange Esmeralda's theme, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.

The rose and cup are stencils, so they qualify for Try it on Tuesday's latest challenge theme which is Use a Stencil or Two. The stray hair is mine.  It's too long for cat hair.  Of course I didn't notice until I took the photos off my camera.

The rose and cup weren't the only stencils I used, though.  I got out my molding paste and colored it with gold paint before I pressed it through a stencil.  The background was supposed to be light pink to red ombre.

I thought it was important to show all the products I used to create this coffee inspired art.  Note the white stool (lower right bottom) I normally stand on to photograph my art.

On the left are my wonderful watercolors I won from CJ.  Both stencils were gifts from Mia (Craftartista).

I used Golden Molding Paste and Golden iridescent gold fine fluid acrylic to create the pattern on the left side of the spread.

The rose and cup were created using Galaxy gel markers.

The pen colors have such expressive names: plasma pink, earth blue, and terrestrial teal.

As I explained earlier, I created this in my Coll-AH-ge Two altered book.  It was originally to go in my Scraps altered book, but it was too large for it.  I had to place it in the much larger one instead.  I used 9 X 12 (22,9 X 30,5 cm) watercolor paper that I folded in half before I painted the watercolor on the page.  I measured the amount of paper I would need for the cup and rose.  I then began by watering down the red watercolor, then gradually adding more until I got the brightest possible.  When the watercolor was dry, I mixed the molding paste with way too much gold fluid acrylic.  I then applied it to the two sides.  Once they were dry, I added the cup and rose.  I covered a lot of challenges today, including T Tuesday, Art Journal Journey, and Try it on Tuesday.  Please join Bleubeard and me at these other challenge blogs, too.

Now it's your turn to share your drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and most assuredly not just this year.

That's a nice rose! My drink this week is a generic Starbucks -- though in fact I didn't actually buy any beverage there, I brought my own on the road trip we took. I'm still not feeling ok about eating out.

Are your pretty rose and cup stencils from the goodies you got from your friend Sally? Very pretty! I love the modeling paste/metallic dimensional look on your pages, too.

I like these stencils and how you used them. You created a beautiful spread. The gold stenciled background is beautiful too. It feels like a carpet with the red behind it. The names of your markers are really interesting. A rose for T is a nice thing. Hope you have a wonderful T day, and thanks for you page for TIOT, and for Sheila's challenge too. Hugs-Erika

Elizabeth I love the stencils and gorgeous gold paste, I’m not very good with sprays, I usually end up with more on me and the surrounding area even when I do it inside a box. The blue you used on the cup stencil is a pretty colour, I have a rose stencil that I’ve never used as it’s just too big!!
Happy T Day

You made me laugh with the hair. Ingo maybe not so much, he sometimes finds one in his bread. I DO bundle them up, but they sneak out!
See, that happens to me all the time - I see details only when the pic is on the PC.
Love your work.
What is the pink Pelikan-thingy?
Cool color names!

Thanks for all the photos of your art materials, I love to see that together with your process description at the end.
Your two pages are great and just right for our challenge theme.
I don't know these pens so that was interesting and also to see the stencils makes the art come more alive. The Golden Iridescent Gold is wonderful, isn't it, and it especially pops out with the molding paste. The deep rose colour on the left is beautiful.
Thanks for another great artwork for our theme at AJJ.

That textured stencil design and the lovely colors you used are the perfect complement for the rose cup.

I'm short, too, and I'm forever climbing on chairs on the patio to get a good shot lol I feel your pain.

Happy T Tuesday!

I like the placement of the rose in the cup. I also like the idea of using the paste with a stencil. I always find something interesting when I visit. I was unable to join today's Tea but I'm going to make the rounds to visit anyhow.

Great pages! I love how that rose comes out of the cup.
If I am not mistaken, this is the first time (or one of the first times) that you used the stencils. It's fun isn't it.
I'm late again commenting. But have a valid excuse this time, I was busy celebrating my birthday!
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca

What a pretty page with the very nice colours to create the flower and cup. I love the metallic gold used on a stencil making it all so regal looking. These markers look good as it says it can be used on dark paper? I do love the addition of the hair which has happened to me but I actually glued it to my card!

That gold appears to have a lot of texture. It really look nice -- and I like the stencils you chose with it as well.
