Friday Smiles 414: In the garden of rain and wind

Welcome to Friday, dear friends.  It's time for Friday Smiles which is hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time).   Let's join her and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday.

This has not been a good week for me.  It's rained every day for two weeks except Sunday and Monday.  I haven't seen the sun except those two days.  I sent an e-mail to a very dear friend that I regretted as soon as I sent it.  Hopefully, it hasn't damaged our friendship.  My friend is much more tactful than I.

I got some happy mail this week, but if you want to see what I got, you'll have to wait until T time next week.  I had a bit of fun playing with filters in Photoshop, though.

Had it not been for my dear friend Scott, who brought my groceries on Sunday, I wouldn't have these to smile about.  He pointed out that my hyacinths have bloomed.  In fact, one may be past blooming.  Three years ago I purchased three.  One pink, one purple, one white.  The second year they doubled and I had two of each.

Sadly, that didn't happen this year.

I guess they don't multiply after awhile.  And apparently, they only last three to four years before the bulbs die.

As I was taking photos of these, it started to rain.

However, I had to check on my tulips and got myself and my beloved camera rather wet in the process.  Luckily, the tulips are doing well and the camera seems to be working fine once I dried it off, too.

For a bit of humor, I decided to focus on technology this week after I told a blogging friend who suggested I text her that I'm the only person over the age of seven who still doesn't own a cell phone.

The reference to 42 is for my friend Divers and Sundry who looks for that number everywhere.

For all you cat lovers (or maybe cat haters) out there.

And finally, this is my favorite, since Firefox is my internet web browser.  Thankfully, I don't have Windows on my computer.

Now let's head over to Annie's our beloved host.  And whatever you do, please don't forget to start your weekend off right with a few Friday Smiles of your own.  If you would like to play along, Annie would love to have you join us.  Remember to stay safe, wear a mask, and smile. People will still know you're smiling, even behind the mask.

This will be my final Friday Smile until April 23.  For 22 days in April, beginning with April 1 and leading up to Earth Day, I recycle, reuse, reduce, rethink, re-invent, redesign, re-craft, recover, restore, rebuild, revamp, reclaim, and/or re-purpose something to keep it out of the landfill.  I hope you will stop by and see what I have planned.  Most of these will be very simple crafts that anyone can make.  After all, if I can make it, so can you.

Oh, you should´ve sent the rain over, I love it. But I could not´ve sent any sun, it was mostly cloudy.
Sometimes straight words are good. And real friendship should go through this. I had this with my Brother and we´re more than just fine.
Or maybe just send another e-mail. Say you´ve cooled off and are sorry?

Yay for happy mail, looking forward to T-Day.
Those flowers I´ve never seen here!

LOL, Mac supporting Windows!!! And Firefox, LOL!!! Mine just this morning said he´s facing a problem (I kid you not).

Looking forward, too, to what you did for Earth Day! And no, not all you can do I can do!

Thanks for the funnies. Technology often defeats me. Very, very often. And yes, I do have a smart phone and it is much smarter than I am.

Fun funnies. I love technology, but still enjoy writing in a notebook with paper and pencil! I think kids today get downloaded and not birthed! Hugs, Valerie

Sometimes I just wish I'd stayed out of the techie loop. But, I would so miss the convenience and the instant hit of news from anywhere in the world. Not o mention missing my blogging friends.

I've never been sure what hyacinths looked like. Thanks to your post, now I do. Sorry you had such a rainy week. Enjoy your april projects.

We all need something to smile about these days and the funnies are brilliant! The weather over here is up and down at the moment but we had a nice day yesterday and managed to get out in the garden which reminds me, I love your hyacinths. We tried growing them in the house once but the perfume is too strong so they are much better in the garden. Have a lovely weekend my friend. Hugs, Angela xXx

Your poor garden really has had a soakinjg, but aren't the bulbs amazing. They still come back each year. I love hyacinths but I can't even get a second year out of mine.
I enjoyed your funnies. But I will miss you during the next month. however I applaud your reason and look forward to seeing what you create. Kate xx

Your hyacinths are beautiful. I had a potted one but when it bloomed the fragrance was overwhelming and it caused allergies The rain looks like crystals on your tulips. I enjoyed your funnies. My favorite was the wireless technology birds and a great 42 find! Enjoy your day

Your hyacinths looks beautiful. You really have spring, even if it rained all week. My backyard is slowly melting away to a giant mud puddle. Anything that bloomed now could only be a water lily. And I like the funnies, especially the ones of the kids taking photos. I am sure they must have asked the teacher. My kids would ask if they could take photos (well I am sure some sneaked photos, there were always those kids-smile). It brought up a good discussion of what note taking means and does for you. But your funny really made me laugh. Have a good Friday-I hope! And I hope a better weekend too. Hugs-Erika

I can't think of anything much more uplifting than to discover the first blooms of spring in the garden. It really doesn't get much better than that.

We have allot of rain as well but this weekend promises to be warmer and nicer-hoping so. I don't have any spring bulbs that were planted here at the lake house-I should did up some of mine from the woods house and bring them over here-some were my Grandmas Yours are a wonderful surprise of Spring.
You found some great funnies Happy Friday

Size 42 clown shoes! That's a great 42 find :) Love the technology funnies.

I don't know anything about hyacinths except how pretty they are. I'd've thought they would've continued to spread like daffodils do. I'm glad your camera is ok.

I hope your hyacinths come again next year for you. Ours were here when we moved here so must be at least 7 years old. They seem to grow and look better every year. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had internet problems.
Hugs,
Annie x

Great funnies. I like the first one best. Glad to see your garden growing. Yes we have had the same rain. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be rain free. I hope so. I want to work in the yard. Have a nice day.

Now you got me curious to know what your happy mail was! I will find out on Friday.
I'm sorry you sent an untactful mail to your friend. If she knows you well, she might know you didn't mean it like that and might forgive you. (I would)
Your hyacinths are great! Are they fragrant? I have mine (only one) in the house and it smells divine.
Your tulips are looking good too. Won't be long now...
I don't know why you haven't got a cell phone. It's not that difficult. I wouldn't know what to do without mine. (we don't have a landline) The only thing I cannot do with it is blog. Blogger does not support anything Apple of Mac. So I have a bulky desktop computer specially for blogging.
Your funnies are really funny today. I really had a good chuckle. I particularly like the Mac supporting Windows.
Have a lovely weekend,
Keep smiling,
Hugs,
Lisca

I suffer from SAD, seasonal affective disorder, since childhood, before anyone knew it had a name. When I was 23, I moved to the desert from the Gulf Coast and voila, no more SAD! Wish I could send sunshine your way. Can't wait to see the Earth Day crafts you will post!

I love that fox! Cats always do things just to annoy you...hahahaaa. That one funny happened to that guy who has a ton of money in bitcoin but he can't remember his password and if he tried one more time it would lock hi m out forever!! I wonder if he got in.
Rainy days, without sun, affects many people so that is when cute dog and cat videos come in handy. Can you ask your friend to not even open the email? If it is too late, call and apologize..explain what happened and if she is a true friend, she will understand. Hugs to you.

I’m surprised at what you said about hyacinths, as ours have been coming back for decades now! I think a spring bulb can be happy and long-lived, or can be sad and disappear quickly. I have no idea how to tell which is which!
