Friday Smiles 401: my tutorial I promised isn't going to happen

It's Friday, which means it's time to join Annie (at A Stitch in Time) along with the wonderful ladies at Friday Smiles.  I didn't have time to create the tutorial I had planned and I am late because I just now started taking photos of my copper molds and other copper in my kitchen.  My colors are primary: white, secondary: copper, accent: cobalt blue.

I'll start in one corner and hope blogger lets me load them in order, starting with my refigerator area.

You can see why I want a new refrigerator freezer.  Maybe one of these days when this one quits freezing, I'll get the one I want with two doors and a freezer as the bottom pull out.

I decided to turn both kitchen lights on and it made a world of difference.

These are my east wall cabinets and bookcase I built to go under it.

My beloved Taylor and Ng mugs.

The tulip set belonged to my grandparents.

Sadly, I can't  ever use it because it is rusty.

Still on my east wall, showing my office upstairs.

South wall over sink.

Close up of items above cabinets on south wall.

Close up of items that sit on top of stove.

This one of a kind cheese grater used to sit over the island in my home in Missouri.  This kitchen is too small for an island and a way to hang the grater.  Instead I had to mount it on the wall, which loses so much of its charm.
This mold now hides where my old hard wired (copper wire) telephone sat on the wall before I moved it to my office so it could be wired to my fiber optic cable.

These molds sit over my doorway leading to the living/dining area.

I found the old Webb City wagon license (upper right) when I lived there.

Thanks for stopping by.  I guess you see I'm a bit of a copper freak.  Now let's head over to Annie's because she knows how to put a smile on everyone's faces.  And whatever you do, please don't forget to start your weekend off right with a few Friday Smiles of your own.  And remember, if you would like to play along, Annie would love to have you join us.

Two doors on a freezer? Pic then please, I think we don´t get this here...
That´s a lot of copper! And the mugs, awww. Good idea (if we had the space...).
And the Crock Pot, I had to google this, do you use it?
Are those real eggs in the hen?
The blue-white... not such good memories, crazy to see it again. Awww, the teapot with the hearts, oh, sweet.
The mold. You give me ideas here. I have a lion once bought years before I "could" bake. Ingo made a pudding for my Big Niece, that´s all.
LOL, yes, I hang things over stuff, too, if someone else moves in here... surprises, LOL. (Or... Friday Smiles, thank you!)

That's a lot you have in your kitchen, and very pretty, too. And much tidier than mine. My fridge/freezer is like yours, but my neighbour has one of those two door models with water compartment etc, nice! Have a fun day, hugs, Valerie

We learn something new every day. I love all your copper items...they look so effective all around your kitchen.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I will see you again for smiles in a fortnight.
Hugs,
Annie

This would make an amazing T day post with the tea and coffee pots. You have some gorgeous copper pieces. And the same crock pot as I have. Only mine went to the swap shop at the dump when my daughter got me an Instant Pot, which can also be used as a crock pot. We've been cleaning out. The cobalt blue is really striking also. I particulary like those animal mugs in black and white hanging on the cobalt blue pegs. They look like a fun way to have your coffee. But I must say (with a smile) your kitchen is so clean. That is a very good thing, unlike mine where I have been baking and left everything out so right now it is a disaster zone. I need to clean it next week once I stop making calorie laden snacks. I love this post my friend and really really enjoyed seeing your house. I think it tells us a lot of people to see what their homes are like. Hope your Friday is a good day. Hugs-Erika

Hi Elizabeth, I knew I'd seen some copper in your kitchen but this is amazing. My collection is tiny in comparison. I do have an interesting collection of Victorian bottles which are a pale green. At the back of our garden there used to be a Victorian rubbish dump where they buried bottles and newspapers and it's really interesting what you can find there. My hubby also worked on an Open Cast Mining site during his holidays from Uni. and collected bottles and jars from there too and they seem to have found a home with us. Take care and wishing you a happy Christmas. Hugs, Angela xXx

Wow ~ What a fantastic collection ~Lot's of history and stories to tell in these pieces. The tulip set by Fire King is from the 40's I believe. I had the copper canister set at one point in my life and I think I sold it on consignment. Enjoy the weekend!

oh, "E" all that beautiful copper but how much time does it take in keeping it beautiful ... I have some big whiskey measures from Scotland that are copper and it takes me a whole day to polish them so, I can only imagine how much time you spend ... love looking at all of them

I love copper and you have an extraordinary collection, Elizabeth. Some really remarkable pieces and you keep them looking so beautiful. I love your collection of molds. I had no idea you were such a copper fan -- there is liking it and really being an astute collector. I'm so impressed -- it's fabulous.

You have a lot of copper things Elizabeth, I like the cake moulds.
Your blue bottles would go well in my house, as I love blue :)
I like the way you hung your coffee cups.

I have two refrigerators in my very large kitchen. One is provided by my landlord and is a typical top freezer. My second is a 2 door, bottom freezer and there are things that design wise suck. You always know when a man designs something that he doesn't use. Both doors have to open to get anything in or out and the bottom (coven) freezer is difficult to keep tract of things. I did get a small stand up freezer to take care of overflow and I love that. As for your "obsession" with copper. (hee hee hee) I love it!!! You have some very nice pieces. Have a great day today.

My fridge is 15 years old, and I hope it lasts forever. It looks a lot like yours, except I think your freezer is larger. I've never had a freezer on the bottom, but it makes sense to have it there. I love all your copper!

You are such a disciplined collector and create such lovely and coherent displays of your copper and blue-glass objects. That makes a beautiful set of little areas on your walls and on top of your furniture. I'm very impressed (as a person with little discipline for such things!)

Wow! Where do i start? What a beautiful collection! And what a job you must have keeping everything polished and shiny!
I love those kettles with their Delft blue handles on top of the units. And I was craning my neck to see what sort of cookbooks you have (just me being nosey)
I love the odd blue glass item. I used to have a few too as living in Bristol, where they make blue glass in England, it was easy to buy.
A double fridge freezer with a drawer. I think we all want one of those. They are not seen much in Europe (partly because our houses are smaller) but my daughter in law has one. She was runner up in a tv cook off show and won all her kitchen white goods and electricals. That double fridge was part of the prize.
I spotted a Dutch mug or pot next to the rocking horse napkin stand. Fits in well.
Thank you so much for showing us around your kitchen treasures. I enjoyed the tour.
Wishing you and 'the boys' a very peaceful and happy Christmas.
