Monday Murals: Parks and Recreation building art

It's time to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals. Although I'm posting at my regular time, please be aware that Sami's mural linky won't go live until 11:01 a.m. my time.  I am also once again joining Betty at My Corner of the World where she shares her own and provides links for family friendly photos from around the world.
Please note, these photos were taken prior to the mandatory (both county and state) lock down.  I have been in self quarantine since March 14 and have been nowhere since then.

I had been told about this mural from a friend who loves to hunt down murals.  Unfortunately, the friend doesn't have a blog, so can't share the found ones with the world.

This mural was difficult to photograph because it was so large

and I had trouble getting back far enough to photograph it.

I decided on a few close-ups

I love the perceived texture these artists achieved.

I found this much better photo on the internet showing one of the artists the day of the ribbon cutting.

This mural is found at the Parks and Recreation building located at 2700 N. Woodland, Wichita, Kansas (USA).  The project was sponsored by the Horizontes Project.  It was overseen by local artist Armando Minjarez and painted by two artists from Colombia, Felipe Ortiz and Ivan Salazar, who also painted the Aztec Art mural I showed back in February or March.

If you enjoy murals, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.  And please don't forget to visit Betty at My Corner of the World, too.

Wow, that is huge indeed - and beautiful!
It reminds me of Tulum, Mexico. Oh, weee, time so runs, that was 2003.
Amazing work you showed. The artist is but a feather, kinda!

The feathers are amazing. That is a cool mural, and the colors are fabulous. I work with a woman whose son paints murals for a living. I should try to track some down. Gld your power made it back on. Did a transformer get hit by lightning? Lucky they could flip on your internet too and that wasn't gone for days. Happy Sunday. Hugs-Erika

Wow! This is gorgeous. The colors are so vibrant as Aztec art it. So glad you were able to get this photo before lock down. Mr. M and I have been isolated since Jan. 14 too with one outing on Jan 30 when Mr.M. was forced to see his doctor. Since then he has video calls. I also want to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my blog. You really touched my heart and it means so much to me. It makes me happy that you are in my life even through blogging. Have a truly wonderful day.

That's one seriously enormous mural. No wonder it was hard to photograph -- you had to get a block away, I bet. Well done!

I just realized a cousin of mine now lives in Wichita-she sent me a card and when I saw the address it hit me-lol I haven't seen her since I was a junior in high school

Sorry Elizabeth, not sure what happened to the Linky, it's up and running now and I've entered it manually.

Absolutely amazing! I'm trying to imagine the size - it looks as though it's basically a whole warehouse - and I just love how the colours shift from rusty shadows to bright light bold colours from wing to wing.
