It's Thursday, which means it's time for Rain's Thursday Art Date. This week the theme is light and dark. I want to begin by thanking everyone who stuck with me while AT&T fumbled around trying to determine the problem with my internet. They are "hoping" new cable and connectors will keep me running awhile. Let's "hope."
A study in light and dark using Twinkling H2Os.
Handmade tea light holder using leaves and flowers from my garden sewn between two sheets of recycled material that was originally a cereal container.
Empowered (a collage) |
A page in my Kitchen Remodel altered round robin book. The key chain light in the lower left originally worked when I added it to the page.
An artistic study in black and white.
Hope was born in the dark, a page in an altered book.
Another study in black and white, this time I included ecru.
Technique: Dark pen on light image |
Beautiful backlit stained glass found at a local museum.
Love of my life seeking shade.
These last two images were from my yard at (obviously) different times of the year.
These are my interpretations of light and dark. All art created by me, all photos taken by me. Bleubeard supervised (and approved).
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to catch up today, even though there is no guarantee my internet will make it through the day without going offline again. Regardless, thanks for sticking with me. Please also join me at Rain's Thursday Art Date.

Lots of beautiful themes art today. Glad Bleubeard approved, kind of him. Glad your Cable is fixed again. Have a great day, stay safe, Valerie
That was a very beautiful potpourri!
Ohhh, your love of your life is my favorite!
It is crazy. A friend in Perth, Australia, always said we in Germany are soooo advanced, we sadly proofed him wrong more often than we wanted to.
And I always thought the same of America. And then I often read about there is no internet, no power...
What we think and "learn" via news and what we learn from real people is such a difference! I am glad to have you blogger-friends who tell the truth!
Good luck with your internet (our WiFi is shi#, I oh so often have to crawl under my desk to reset it! A pain!).
Fabulous post, what great makes her too.xx
These are all beautiful art and photos for this topic. Fabulous work, oh wonderful Elisabeth. I enjoyed your posting and I am happy that you are joining Rain!
Hug, Elke
Good morning! thank you for flooding my screen with creative visuals ~ great art pages and photography ~ Bluebeard and your hand sewn tea light holder are my favorites. I hope your internet behaves now and that you stay well and keep crafting!
I had 2 friends who HAD AT&T and got rid of them(lol) They said the problems they caused them, including the loss of income because they worked from home and the headaches were just too much. They were thrilled when another provider came on board, even though the monthly fees were more expensive. I totally feel the pain you were going through because we need the connectivity of the Internet to ugh...work, right?(lol) Thank goodness all is finally well. I love the way to you interpreted darkness and light in your artwork mix. Quite lovely and creative. Always love seeing pics of the owner of the house too, and we thank him for allowing us to see his beauty for a moment. Sending some hugs your way! RO
Your pages for Light and Dark and beautiful, Elizabeth. And I love your tea light holder! What a great idea!!!
Your "empowered" collage is a lovely inspiration!
Give a hug to Bleubeard from me!!!!
And thank you for sharing photos for your gorgeous yard. You are lucky to have such a big yard in your house (I am living in the city!).
Hugs, my dear friend.
Love the tea light holder!
Nice interpretation for the light and dark theme this week. I was unable to add an art sketch this time but I did manage to throw together a quick post this morning conveying Rain's theme mostly accidentally an yet so perfect for the days we face. Be healthy and well, my dear!
Wonderful light and dark images for Rain's theme!

Great assortment of artwork Elizabeth. I hope ATT has finally fixed your internet problems. And I hope you are healthy and safe.
I love the tea light shining through the leaves. That's a fun idea! I hope AT&T has you all fixed up. :)
Your post is an excellent collection of art-loving everything! Especially your tea light-I love that!! I need to learn more about light for my paintings Hope they got your internet figured out now too-fingers crossed hugs
Hi Elizabeth!! Bleubeard is adorable, he looks spot on like my Leo, who is currently hugging and scenting a tennis ball I found under the couch! :) I love your light and dark pieces! Your light and dark study is really cool, lots of neat effects. And I just love the black and white highways!! That reminds me of scratchboard art! Very nice!! There is nothing worse than losing internet...at least these days when we rely on it for basically so much...too much maybe? :) I hope yours stays on!! Our world is still white out there, though I saw LOTS of rain in the forecast for tomorrow...oh it'll be a mess out there!! But I'm ready for spring, that's for sure!!
What an array of fantastic art! Wonderful Elizabeth!

Love the snow photo too, but glad it has departed!

A great theme and I enjoyed your interpretation. My favorite photo is Bleubeard, of course.
Wow this is a great display of dark and light. Glad you got your internet worked out. I will be dumping Spectrum when my month runs out.
Great views of light and dark Elizabeth. And so glad you are finally fixed and HOPEFULLY will stay fixed and working. I've missed hearing from you. And hope you are staying healthy also. Hugs-Erika
Sorry I am late calling in this week. I really likes seeing all the photos you added to this post. I have to say as well that Bleubeard is the star photo for me.

Bleubeard has good taste :) My favorites are the first two images and the astonout :) Love the little tea light holder.
Great examples of light and dark - love the shots of your garden! Bleubeard does look particularly handsome in that light! Hugs, Chrisx
Great post full of light and shadows... I do like Bleubeard's eyes glowing out of the shadowy greys, and the tea light holder with your garden leaves and flowers is enchanting. I can imagine a whole row of these lighting up a summer evening.
