T Stands For a look back at my first tea post

If your T Stands For Tuesday post is the same as your Second on the 2nd post, please link both places.  If this post looks familiar, it's because, unlike you, I needed to create a second post in order to have a place where you can add your Mr. Linky link.

"Welcome to my first ever Tuesday Tea, the brainchild of Kimmie* at Art in Red Wagons. Please check Kimmie's blog for other Tuesday Tea participants."
These were the first words I wrote on March 23, 2010 (nearly nine and a half years ago), immediately before I showed my first Tea Tuesday post. Back then, we had themes, which was even more of a challenge than just figuring out what tea we would drink and what tale our tea cup of the day could tell.

*Please be aware, the link above is still good, even though Kimmie has not hosted a tea party for well over seven years and has not posted in over a year.

Below is the post in its entirety:

Tuesday Tea: Springtime in Kansas

Welcome to my first ever Tuesday Tea, the brainchild of Kimmie at Art in Red Wagons.  Please check Kimmie's blog for other Tuesday Tea participants.

Today's theme was provided by Dianne at Bits and Pieces of D (I removed the link because the blog is now by invitation only). Dianne's theme is "What signifies the coming of spring for you?" To me, spring means new growth, beginnings, and of course, my first ever Tuesday Tea.

I begin this adventure with Earl Grey, a black (loose leaf) tea that has a distinct orange flavor, due to orange rinds packed in with the tea leaves. This wonderfully aromatic tea is much darker than it appears in the photo, because the sky's reflection masks its true color.
_____________________________________________________

As I've mentioned in the past, one Tuesday, instead of sharing tea with us, Kimmie just quit playing and never notified anyone.  That's when a few of us got together online and decided to keep posting every Tuesday.  However, out of respect for Kimmie, after about nine months when I took over as host, I changed the name from Tuesday Tea to T Stands For Tuesday.  It was also at that time I started using Linky Links, something Kimmie chose not to do.

EDIT:  I should mention that Kimmie insisted we drink tea and ONLY tea.  That left many who like other beverages out of the picture.  After all, a few of us LOVE coffee (wine, beer, soft drinks, orange juice, buttermilk, eggnog, and water, with or without lemon) too!

It's now time to share your own drink related post this week.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, ATCs, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.

What a pretty teacup and saucer! It's so beautifully positioned in the springtime setting too 😁. I drink loose leaf tea and the orange in this tea sounds lovely - Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

Happy T Day! I'm reminded of when I worked with a caterer who used to have tea parties for adults and kids, and her tea sets were so beautiful. She helped me to get into trying all new types of tea flavors too. She decided she didn't want to work any longer and sold her business and the stunning stone building it was in for a little over $700,000, along with her inheritance from her dad, and moved to Florida to live in the luxury home she rented out to a tenant. She says she's happy and still drinking some of her favorite teas.(lol) Love your teacup too! Hugs, RO

To have a tea-only link-up with a theme would be a challenge and certainly more time consuming, and I'd be unable to schedule posts ahead of time lol, but I'd certainly give it a try if you went in that direction. I enjoy the visits :)

Happy T Tuesday!

I like your beautiful tea cup and saucer from your first ever tea post, Elizabeth. I left a few comment's on Kimmie's blog, even though she hasn't been active for over a year. Thank you for continuing the T challenge: I've met some very nice people because of it. Happy (belated) T-Day! (I'm late commenting.)

I'm not well so I have been missing posts or late...please forgive me. Remember Aunt Clara from Bewitched? She used to collect doorknobs (the actress, Marion Lorne actually did collect doorknobs and the ones shown in the show were from her own personal collection), well, I could easily collect T-cups and your t-cup is so pretty. What's funny is I rarely drink tea:) I will have peppermint tea when I have a cold and maybe a tea here and there but otherwise, no tea. I love tea cups though:) I like the beginning of something new and that you brought in spring with this new venture.
