Art to share now that I'm back online

I know lots of my dear internet friends thought I would be making lots of art while I was offline.  Unfortunately, that was the furthest thing from the truth.  Instead, I was so initially stressed I did something I rarely do.  I binged on tv shows, even though it appears most were reruns.  Then Saturday came and my phone and internet were fixed.  Instead of jumping up and down for joy, I didn't even turn my computer on.  I got wrapped up in the Olympics and many of the PBS (public broadcasting shows) that lead up to the Olympics.

Today I started to feel guilty about leaving my blog for so long, so I went online to see what the latest challenges were.  In order to catch up with others, I decided to try a single entry that would cover Art Journal Journey, Moo-Mania and More, and Try it on Tuesday.  I call it Summertime in the Garden.

I'll begin with Art Journal Journey where this month the theme, Nature's Wonders, was chosen by Gill of Gibby Frogett Craftations.  I've yet to meet Gill, but will as soon as I post this entry.  I hope you can see there are truly some of Nature's Wonders in this piece.

Moo-Mania and More's challenge is Summer.  Not only do I show it's summer, I also named the piece for summertime.

Try it on Tuesday asks us to use our leftovers.  Many of my regular visitors saw the pages I made for Chris in our International Swap.  These were all left over from that swap.  Even the background paper came from that swap, as did the chipboard flowers and the flowers I cut while I was privy to my friend Kathy's dies.

This butterfly was left over from an entry I created about a year ago.  It's part of a napkin that I cut and adhered to the background.

This entry was created in my Coll-AH-ge Too altered book.  Please join me at Art Journal Journey, Moo-Mania and More, and Try it on Tuesday, where each challenge offers different types of mixed media art that you are going to love.

Oooh! Just popped over to copy a link to your blog and here you are - Yay!!! This is beautiful and certainly ticks the boxes for those 3 challenges! Thank you for joining in at Try It On Tuesday! The colours here are just wonderful(as I already know!) I think I would have just been like you - I couldn't have concentrated on making anything and as for the Olympics - well already there were some awful spills in the cycling, some great gymnastics and today found me watching Fencing!! I really enjoyed the Opening Ceremony too! So pleased you are fixed! Hugs, Chrisx
ps I won't be around on Tuesday - taking my 2 grandsons away for a few days!

Glad to hear you are back. And I'm also glad you totally took it easy and did a bit of tv binging, as you've had enough to deal with between your internet and basement flooding lately. I got engrossed in woman's soccer/football game today. Every time I see a game it amazes me (still) how big of a field they play on. And I love your latest piece, and how you managed to hit all 3 challenges at the same time. So hope you have been well-minus the internet problems. Glad you are back online. You were missed by me. Hugs-Erika

Great to see you back with us! Love the pages you made, and thanks so much for linking them to our three challenges, that was a coup! I haven't looked at anything about Olympia yet, not really my cup of tea or coffee). Have fun, hugs, Valerie

Hey! You can do whatever you want to do. :) When I am stressed I don't accomplish much of anything. Glad you did do some art and that you are back online. Hope this is a less stressful week. :)

First of all: Great to have you back Elizabeth !! I missed you!

I think that this was a wonderful break for you as you are always so busy with making art and blogging! One needs to have a break from time to time..and see... after the break you made the most wonderful and unique piece of art that even fits 3 challenges at one!
So this is the WONDER that came after relaxing even when relaxing was forced -

I am sure about this - and maybe you should learn from this to allow yourself to rest at least one day every week from internet work???!

I say three times THANK YOU ELIZABETH
in this comment!
We are happy to welcome you art at
Art Journal Journey, Moo Mania & More and
Try It On Tuesday!

A wonderful new week to you - we will meet tomorrow again I think!

How wonderful that your internet issues have been resolved!
I have days when I don't go online at all either...it's also good to give your mind a change.
Lovely art work that fits 3 criteria, it's certainly very summery.

Wow a wonderful splash of summer colours. A great way to return to the craft room and share this awesome journal spread with us. I love how you used up some of your leftovers and its good to have you share work with us at TioT's.
Finally, its good to see you back on the net, lets hope all your connection problems have been solved this time. You are not the only one watching some of the Olympics, we are but being a bit selective over what we turn on.

Yay! Happy to see your internet problems are solved. You did a very good job of hitting all three challenges with one piece. I like the colorful page very much. I admit I kept trying to see the background paper - I'm interested in that sort of graphic at the moment.

Glad you are back online. I totally understand getting sucked into shows. I binge watched a series on Netflix last spring instead of doing what I should have been. I was obsessed!
Lovely summer page and very skillful to meet three challenges in one.

Firstly thank you for your lovely comments on my blog and its lovely to meet you too. (not sure if you see my reply from there but re the background and the cellophane I used, I think its a bit of trial and error needed, as a different piece I used would not transfer the ink. I just assumed as it was clear and shiny it would work.

I hope you are feeling much more relaxed now your phone/internet working, these things are always stressful, wondering if they will keep appointments and fix things promptly.

Bliss? yes... summery days full of sunshine and wonderful flowers and butterflies that is bliss! and your beautiful page has captured that - I love it!

Wishing you a better week... Gill x

Summertime in the garden IS bliss. Lovely spread for the garden theme. I've been reading up a storm lately and staying off the computer alot which is why I am so behind in catch up. Also spending oodles of time at the gallery, which is a happy place so it's all good. xox

Well, I've been MIA online for longer than I like -- even though I've been having fun. I have a couple of days to check up! And I do thank you for visiting, even when I haven't!

Hello Elizabeth. Maybe you just needed a break from all your Internet and art activity recently, you've been doing so much. I think Susi said it very well.
Thanks for all your delightful comments on my blog, I know how much time it can take to go commenting so I really appreciate it.
Your three-in-one piece is beautiful, love that cool sun.

OH Elizabeth these pages are glorious and certainly do speak to perfect summer days!
A break is not a bad thing (well I took one and now I am scrambling to try and catch up with everyone at AJJ and I even missed T this week which hardly ever happens). Hope you break was refreshing.

p.s. about the tissue melting into the page ... I make sure to peel them down to the thinnest layer and am sometimes surprised that some tissues and napkins have 3 or 4 layers
