Tea dyed

Sometimes we start projects and don't show the outcome the next time everyone gets together. I've done this a couple of times, and want to set the record straight this week. First, don't forget this is a Tea Tuesday post, where Kimmie keeps our links and my tea buddies drop by. I call your attention to the cup of ice tea served in my mug I bought last year at the height of a heat wave. Since we are in another round of 100 plus temperatures (38 plus C) which are supposed to last the entire week and possibly longer, I thought this mug was appropriate in hopes cooler temperatures would soon come our way.


Last week I began by tying some lace in knots or rubber bands, then I threw them in a pot of leftover tea. After I removed the lace from the tea, I set it on a piece of muslin fabric that soaked up the excess moisture. Then I twisted a longer piece of muslin and knotted it before throwing it in the same tea bath. In addition to the lace and muslin, I also dyed some papers, some of which were old, some not so old. The evidence of all this tea dyeing sits in front of you this morning. Have a great Tea Tuesday and consider dyeing some lace or paper in your leftover tea today.
