Remembrance Tea

Once I finish writing this post, I am heading to my basement where I will be sorting through my art supplies. The Pod that was supposed to be sitting in my driveway for about six weeks while the workers come in and rebuild my basement craft room would not go in my driveway because the tree branch that provides shade to the driveway in the summer is also the one that is too low for the Pod to go under. You can see how low this branch is in a recent photo I took.

The Pod came yesterday on a semi truck flat bed that was about 20 feet in the air and, as you can see, the tree branch hangs too low for the semi to get under. The City Ordinance does not allow the Pod to sit in the street, so it had to go back. The restoration team, who will be here shortly after 8 am, will have to pack everything and send it to their warehouse for storage. I must keep out things I will be using (or anticipate using) in the next six weeks or so, because I will not have access to them once they are off site. So instead of brewing a relaxing cup of tea today, I thought I would try something a bit different.

I've been seeing these mosaics all over the internet and finally found the link to where you can make one of your own. I thought it would be fun to make a mosaic of some of my more memorable Tea Tuesday photos to celebrate Kimmie's new Tea Tuesday page on her blog. BTW, here's the link in case you want to create your own mosaic. Double click on the image for the best view.

I'm so thrilled. We Tea Tuesday participants now have a page so you can get our links in one quick spot. You can also click on Kimmie's teacup photo on my sidebar. It will take you to the other Tea Tuesday participants' links.

Of course, since this post only required about three hours of sifting through photos (grin), I decided to shamelessly add the links Kimmie posted for us

and celebrate by visiting all these blogs today. Hope you will, too. Of course, my visit will have to be after the workers leave at 5 pm.

You've got your work cut out for you today, Elizabeth! Choosing art supplies to keep me going for a while would be a difficult task. I'm soooo fickle!!! Just remember to take time for yourself! Hugs, Terri xoxo

Thanks for the links and I will have to put up Kimmie's teacup soon too. A restoration sounds like fun. Hope it all goes well. Still looks cold up there, so stay warm and nice having tea with you today. Love the mosiac and will check out the link on how to do it.

So that is what a poid is! I have been puzzling over it since yesterday... shame it won't fit and now you must pack everything up and you know you will pack something that you will want... it happens to me every time I do it! My mojo takes a vacation while my stash and tools are all around and then as soon as it is all packed up it decides to come back and I have all these ideas and nothing to create them with! :(
Does this mean you are getting a super new basement studio? All clean and fresh and organised just how you want?
Love your mosaic.... I have used Picasa to do this but will check out your link to see if it is more user friendly! ;)

That's terrible that you won't have access to your stuff. But I guess it's better than the alternative...having it stacked to the ceiling in every other room in your house. Which would pretty much make it impossible to get to anything anyway. Besides...we'd have to call the men in white coats to take you away if you had to live in that much clutter for that long, my neatfreak friend. :) Good luck...eat your Wheaties...you're going to need the energy!

I am so proud of you for not giving in and cutting off that branch ..... many other people would have done that I am sure! All this trouble will be well worth it in the end .... a great adventure!

Your photo mosaic is a testament to your faithfulness! You have joined us for tea every week - even when the power is out!!!!!

Blessings on your day and the continuing adventure!

How wonderful to have a chance to sift through what you will need, and not need. Then after you have a brand new basement, you can re-open the boxes and be restored with your forgotten treasures. Here's to a happy remodel, and thanks for the link. Christen

Oh Elizabeth you were without power last time I visited and now you are going to be without a craft room.....Aaaah ! But your beautiful tree is a creation that can never be done in a craft room so treasure it. I,m sure the weeks will go quickly and it will be so exciting when your new room is finished. Thanks for the tip on the mosaics, you must have read my mind from afar as I have been wanting to make one of these but had no idea how, am going off now to give it a go. Cheers xx
