Hand gestures

Sixteen hand gestures were cut into squares and placed on a colorful background, similar to the masking tape and magazine image backgrounds I made for the background swap. The only difference is, I mounted the tape and magazine strips directly to the book page, so the words show through in spots and adds even more interest. Click for a better look at the gestures and the lovely background. Although it takes awhile to create, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite background techniques when I need something dark.

Something I think I failed to mention when I wrote the tutorial is to brush the paint on the strips in the direction of the strips. Mine are all vertical, so that's the lines I followed.
