Imagine my surprise after I spent time yesterday getting my herbs outside, what the wind and rain did to them last night. I worked my way right to left in the detail shots below.

Overnight the lemon grass stalks were blown over, and the curly parsley went from green to brown.

I was quite surprised to find this plant had flowered. Sadly, the wind was blowing so hard, I never got a clean shot.
Herb Day is this Saturday, May 3, so I will be replacing the plants I lost or died last year. Thanks for this opportunity to share my herb garden with you.

The garden (and nature) is a hard task mistress. I look forward to seeing more of your herb garden.
Sad! I still wait with planting... We might get too cold weather once more.
Btw, before the last pic I was so happy your hands are so stable to get good pics!
...happy gardening to you.

We wouldn't dare put delicate plants out in April. Our area is in the warmer part of Michigan, but we can still have a frost for quite some time. In the more northern parts of the state the frosts can continue into June.
Good luck with your herb garden!
I hope my herbs have come back.
Never fails, does it? Mother Nature has a quirky sense of humor.
Gardening so often doesn't come easy, as we never quite know what the weather will bring.
Good luck with your herb garden and herb day this coming Saturday.
All the best Jan
Was it sunny when you put them out? They look like they've been badly sun burned and then whipped around by the wind and rain. (Plants not used to full sun will get sun burnt until they get used to the sun.) I've had that problem until I realized what was happening. Even fish can get sun burnt. Do you think any of them will come back? Good luck with your herb gardening. And have fun at herb day too. hugs-Erika
I hope you can salvage most of them. :)
You have some work ahead of you! I am looking forward to managing the garden.
You have a task at hand but I know you are up to it. That had to be some storm.
