Guest Desiger Mia from Craftartista

I have one final guest designer and host.  Today it is my dear friend Mia, who is also one of the moderators at Art Journal Journey.  She recycled a very different project.

Mia, who many of you know as Craftartista, recycled an old vinyl disc record and turned it into a bowl.  She also told me she added patterned paper in the center.  I tried to make one of these bowls years ago and mine turned out deformed and didn't look like a bowl at all.  Mia's turned out great.

This is Day 19 of 22 and my friend Mia is the guest host and designer of a recycled project.  Thank you for your visit and thanks to Mia for her contribution today.

That did come out fabulous. I’ve seen these but never tried one. And what a great way to recycle old record, which are now getting popular again. What goes around comes around. Happy Saturday and happy Easter to you also hugsErika

She had the touch for sure- her bowl is so nicely shaped. I can see how it could go wrong so easily. But this is very successful. Thanks for sharing it.

My mom had two flatter albums that were undulating like that but not deep like a bowl that were made to be hung on the wall. I think this was in the late 50s. They were sprayed gold and hung in our living room for several years. My little brother knocked one off the wall throwing couch pillows and it broke into a few pieces and that was the end of them. Mom took the other one down. Haven't thought of them for decades. I wonder if they were something she bought at a craft fair or somewhere where they made handmade items.
