Leaves of change

Blogger has STILL blocked me from leaving comments.  It is very frustrating and I am trying to leave comments in e-mails (when I can find them), which is both time consuming and sometimes futile.  Please be aware, I will leave a proper comment when Blogger lets me publish comments again.

Tam of Willowing.org had a taster of her new Year of Light.  There were about 20 artists who mostly created tons of faces and things I knew I could never create.  However, Tiffany Sharpe made some leaves.  Mine aren't as elaborate as hers, but at least they are leaves.  And they were good enough, I felt I could join Alison/Craftytrog at Art Journal Journey, whose chosen theme for October is Autumn Colors and Inspiration.  Detail shots are below.

I began by sectioning the 110 lb. cardstock into two areas: sky and grass.  I used the dark blue water soluble crayon at the very top of the page and the lighter blue until it hit the area I intended for grass.  For the grass, I used brown, light green, and dark green water soluble crayons.  Although Tiffany had some round and other designed leaves, I chose to make mine all basically the same design.

The first leaf I created was similar to one of Tiffany's.  It is the one in the middle.  I used glitter crayons, watercolor pencils, my gold Posca pen, in addition to brown and blue Sharpies.  It took me over four hours to create it and I kept having to rest my right hand every so often.  I knew then that only one would be like hers.  The rest I colored in yellow, red, and brown water soluble crayons and Sharpies.  When finished, I drew a line around the leaves using my black Posca pen.  I then fussy cut each leaf and adhered each to the page using a glue stick.  I had manila cardstock I used to write the words "Leaves of change."  You can tell how shaky my hands are from my handwriting.

Bleubeard and I are delighted you stopped by. We hope you will join us at Art Journal Journey with your own interpretation of Autumn Colors and Inspirations.

Yours are great! Somehow here the leaves just get dry and fall off. No change in color (in my garden-view, must go to the park).
Ack to blogger. At least it allows you to post!!!! (Knock on wood, glad I just have to bend down for that).
Have a great Saturday and maybe just don´t try commenting and be happy. I can imagine how annoying that is! (I get those messages, too, but at one point blogger let´s the comments through).

Your art journal entry sounds so intricate and beautifully crafted. It's wonderful how you took inspiration and made it your own, even if it took a while and some breaks in between.

I just shared a new travel post, please read: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/10/visit-dumbarton-castle-scotland-historic-fortress-dunbartonshire.html Thank you.

Isn't it wonderful to see all the leaves on the trees change colour and become "on fire". I love driving along and seeing all the trees in their splendid autumnal robes.
Thanks for sharing your autumnal leaves with all the beautiful colours of Fall.
Hugs, Neet xxx
