Before we begin, I want to thank Erika for hosting in January. She was a super host, visiting everyone at Art Journal Journey, which is far more than I can say for myself.
Today we welcome a new host as we always do each month to Art Journal Journey. Not only is she a new host, she is a first time host. Let me introduce all you regular Art Journal Journey participants to Vicki of Stamped Smiles. This is my interpretation of Keeping it Light as requested by our host, Vicki of Stamped Smiles. As I mentioned before, not just a new host, but Vicki is a first time host, as well. I hope you will make her feel at home because she makes lovely art. As usual, I have a few detail shots.
I started with this image I found in a magazine that spoke to me. I felt it explained light in two different ways. First there was sunlight peeking through the background. Then there was the light wine. I stamped everything using a new stamp set I had to cut apart before I could use it. I had just finished stamping my final "e" when I dropped it onto the "n." It's true, I still can't stamp!!
Vicki, Chris, Erika, Valerie, Bleubeard, and I are delighted you joined us and hope to see you this month at Art Journal Journey as you share your own interpretation of Keeping it Light.
We
welcome art journal pages that meet the theme requirements,
altered book
pages, canvases, loose, or stand alone pages including fabric and
digital art. We cannot leave comments on Facebook or Instagram entries. We do not allow cards, tags, index cards, ATCs, or ATCoins, unless
they are
part of a journal page, and as much as we don't want to, will be forced
to delete your entry. Please remember if your
blog is not in English, we ask that you translate it for us since the translation tool doesn't work on some blogs. Hope to see you soon at Art Journal Journey.

I like how you have shown the contrast between the light and dark within your journal page. The rich full bodied red wine contrasts well with the light almost clear white wine. Also the sunlight catches on the glasses and the glass of the white wine bottle.

Oh Elizabeth! This is clever! I love the sunlight of course. The contrast of the wine bottles and the shadows on the table really emphasise the light! Hugs, Chrisx
What a pretty view. I would like to be there now. And you came up with a good idea. Light wine, light sky. You hit it double duty!!!! Happy February my friend I hope it starts off great for you. Hugs Erika
The magazine picture of the wine-tasting in a vineyard reminds me of a visit a few years ago when we went to a gorgeous location with rolling hills covered with vines. Ironically, we didn’t like the wine itself very much.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
...and here I sit waiting to see the sunlight.
Beautiful.
I think I'd be very delighted to join you for some of that light wine out with that sunlight peeking over that gorgeous scenery! I love it when we can find things that speak to us in a certain way and you've done it nicely here! The lettering and design are fresh, light and crisp! Brilliant job with the theme and thank you so much for your kindness in welcoming me this month! :)
I am more impressed by the view and the light thru the glass than the wine-lol!
clever interpretation for light. Keep stamping and it will get easier. :)
Lovely interpretation
I really like this one. Sunlight through glass is always so pretty. Well done my friend. Hopey your day is going well.
That's a lovely photo and I like how you interpreted it with the sunlight . .. sun light!
Nice one!
Much♡love
"Light" will yield many different interpretations, I'm sure.
The light wine magnifies the beauty of that background scene Elizabeth, clever use of Vicki's February theme. You did a grand job with the stamping you really are too hard on yourself..
Happy crafty February Hugs Tracey x
Sunlight and wine is hard to beat, Elizabeth! Wishing you lots of both!
