Monday Murals: Harvey Drug in Newton, Kansas

It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals.  Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.

I accidentally drove on a wrong street in Newton, Kansas (USA) trying to get back to Main Street when I literally stumbled on this mural

on the side of Harvey Drug.

Since Labor Day is on Monday in the states and Labour Day is on Monday in Canada,

I thought this patriotic mural was appropriate.  Harvey Drug is located at 115 W 5th in Newton, Kansas (USA).

If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.

Is there a story behind it? It looks a bit "neglected", the colors worn out.
So sad we need soldiers.
Ingo joined the Bundeswehr/German Army for two years (back then you had to).
I fail to understand people who really have partners working there. I would be afraid 24/7 if they were fighting in a war, far away.
Ingo was a firefighter, which also made me worry at lot.

An excellent find - though Iris is right and it does look a little faded.

I bet it was quite striking when the paint was fresh and bright. Good find for the holiday. :)

That's a very nice Patriotic mural. And a nice tribute to people in the military. Thanks for your comments about Maddie too. Even having Pete at home, it is awfully quiet without her. But hopefully she'll be home Tuesday or maybe even tomorrow. hugs-Erika

I do enjoy murals!

We saw quite a few patriotic murals on our cross-country trips. Unfortunately, sometimes they represent the not-so-nice patriotism of the extremists — not sincere love of country but rather, deep hatred of “the other.”

The government is not always on the side of Labor.

Oh the benefits of an accidental wrong turn- this is very nice and quite unobstructed for viewing. It's a great wall for a mural.
