The Canadian Rockies

It's time to once again join my dear friend Chris, our host this month at Art Journal Journey, with her Where in the World theme.  This will be my final entry this month.

My final entry takes Bleubeard and me to the Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park.  Because there are several faces in the postage stamps, I will be able to join Nicole and her Friday Face Off later tonight.

This hotel sits at the base of Glacier National Park.  What stunning views.

Beautiful flowers are found at this hotel.

Canada is famous for its artists, like this self portrait of Jean Paul Lemieux.

A view from the Icefields Parkway.

The RCMP or Royal Canadian Mounted Police Depot Division.  Lots and lots of faces here.

I want to thank Chris for her wonderful hosting skills this month and for giving us some wonderful examples of journal art.  Her journal pages were not just inspiring, they were great examples of her theme.

I also want to thank my Art Journal Journey co-administrators, Chris, Erika, and Valerie for picking up the slack this month, while I was completely engrossed in our annual clean up.  Then my battle with food poisoning has not been easy.  I am still not completely out of the woods on that.

And finally, thanks so much for joining Bleubeard and me today.  We are grateful you stopped by.  We also hope you will join us at Art Journal Journey and Friday Face Off.

I've never been to the Canadian rockies. You make it sound like a destination well worth the visit!

Back in 2012 the hubby and I did this trip, and I'd forgotten how stunning a place it is. The photos on the your page really capture this, and those stamps are really fun too. We actually stayed at that hotel in Glacier National Park. Inside it wasn't exactly luxurious. It was very bare bones. And kind of creepy because it was older and all I could think of was a Stephen King novel. Smile. It was being renovated when we were there so hopefully it's a bit nicer and not so spartan, especially since national park hotels can be expensive.

But the view is amazing, and so was the hiking around there. You just need to make a lot of noise and stay in groups because of the bears-especially the grizzleys.

And you mentioned the parking costs on my last page. If I had driven and parked in Boston that would have been the cost per day to park. I could have taken a bus in, but that cost just about as much as the parking, and when you come in so late (since I am not a nightowl), you have to wait for the bus and take that only part way home to where your car is, I'd rather pay the parking. But it is a lot of money, especially when you add up everything else you need to spend on a trip.

I'll "see you" first thing with our new pages for September. hugs-Erika

Thank you for another great trip. The views are wonderful and the stamp... wow.
I´m really sad I found no approach to join.
Ack, so sorry you still fight this food poisoning! I am so glad my Father gave me his stomach genes. I went through that in half a day. Hope you are done with that now, too!

Thanks for bringing back lots of good memories, Elizabeth! I enjoyed looking at your pictures. Terry and I visited Glacier years ago, along with the beautiful Icefields Parkway, and other magnificent spots in the Canadian Rockies. We stayed in a cabin at Glacier. I don't remember the cost of parking, lol. I let Terry grumble about things like that! My cousin John was a Mountie, very handsome one. He was in intelligence. We were proud of him and of his service. The US Postal Service has created some beautiful floral and cultural stamps. I started collecting stamps when I was a kid, but it became too expensive. Enjoy your weekend!

Those national parks are right in my backyard, so to speak, and yes, they are spectacular!
