It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals. Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.
I first saw this mural last year in late August or early September when I was in Newton, Kansas. I had problems getting close to it and realized it was because it wasn't finished. I decided to return once they had completed it. It is obviously one of those lovely postcard murals many towns are famous for having. This mural is found at the intersection of A Street and College Avenue in Newton, Kansas (USA). It appears to reflect what Newton is famous for. I recently returned to Newton and I'll update the mural next week, so you can see the completed mural in its entirety and beauty.
If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.

It starts great - I look forward to next Monday already!
P.S. to your last comment on Koalas... please visit River here for more!
It already looks good - and I am looking forward to seeing the complete version. Thank you.
...I love postcard murals, I think that every town should have one. What better way to welcome people to the community.
I like the style of the mural. There's a Newton in Massachusetts, too, but I don't think they have a mural
I have found it amusing that the old postcard art has been repurposed this way. When we were kids, friends and relatives often sent us postcards, and we were always kind of disappointed by getting only the decorated letters in the name of the town, not a full picture of something interesting. Now I appreciate this style.

This is really impressive and I look forward to seeing the completion. This style is so appealing.
Beautiful blog
I love murals like this. I'm looking forward to see the updated mural. Have a happy week!
P.S. #2... altered my post - you made me think. Blue and yellow is the local soccer-team!
Thank you - this was the reason for the mural, likely!
That's a wonderful postcard!
I love the postcard murals, they tell so much about a town.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Elizabeth.
Looking forward to next week :)
It does have the beginnings of a great mural!
I like features that highlight local pride :)
I've been seeing the news highlighting the high temps in Kansas. Yikes!
Nice mural, love the lettering. Hugs!
I love those old time postcard images.
