WOYWW 735: Giving thanks

I an so grateful to my dear friend and our head desker Julia of Stamping Ground.  She has always been so supportive and made me feel right at home.  No matter how long I take between visits, she never seems to mind.  For that I am really thankful.

Wendy and I are giving thanks to said friend and fearless leader, Julia because we got this amazing ATC and new badge that Wendy can proudly wear once she shifts a few of them around.  Thank you beyond belief, dear Julia.  I am SO very grateful to you and your friendship, too.

She tells me her outfit is getting as full as my jean jacket that has over one hundred badges I have picked up on my travels over the years.

Also on my desk is this lovely card I received from Sharon who sometimes also visits WOYWW.  This card is in response to
our play date a few weeks ago.  The guest checks were because I saw one in one of Sharon's junk journals she brought to show me and I raved about it.  Now I have a few of my own and I am most thankful.  Thankful for our friendship, too!

Sharon's stamp on the back of her card.

But I know you want to see this week's choice of rocking horses.  This week I have a plethora of them, thanks to my friend Cindy who sent these black and white pages to me last year.  I have a few close ups.

What I wouldn't give for those rocking horse prices.  I would buy several of each size!

I realize this is a longer post than I usually share, and promise I will keep it shorter next week.

Thanks for dropping by. Whether you're a closet voyeur, a craft enabler, or someone just getting workspace ideas, you have come to the right desk hop.  Please join me at Julia's, where you will meet the kindest, most generous bloggers in the world.

Wow on your jacket with over 100 pins! I think you don´t watch it, but there even is a The Simpsons episode on this phenomenon!
Ohhh, so many beautiful rocking horses!
Have a nice day (here another cold, rainy one...)

Poor Wendy is feeling the weight! mind you, I expect your Jean jacket is less light than it was too, how great to know of your collection...I'm a squashed pennie collector on our travels, they just sit in a pot tethering time...love a collection!! Isn't it fascinating that the variety and attraction of rocking horses hasn't changed much over many years, you're the only one I know who collects, but I don't know anyone that doesn't do a mental 'awe' when they see one!

It's always a pleasure to see Wendy, I'm sure she is happy to be here too. Loving the old prints, I'd have to scan those and keep the originals but I'm sure you have a plan for them. Have a lovely woyww. Hugs, Angela x9x

Nice badge. I like how WOWW does that. And you're lucky to have Sharon to make art with every now and again. It's a good way to share ideas and plus it's fun. She made you a lovely card. Have a super mid-week Elizabeth. hugs-Erika

I haven’t seen any vintage rocking horses like that. Are you going to make a rocking horse journal? That would be good. Happy WOYWW. Angela #12

Wendy is going to need a tabard or something to put any more badges on. I have a camp blanket which I used to sew on my proficiency badges when I was a Girl Guide. Then I added places i went to as well so that now hangs behind the shower room door in the annexe. Don't think there will be 100 though. I never thought to collect them as i got older.
Love the pictures of all the rocking horses, such a lot to choose from.

So glad you got your new badge from Julia, you seem to be a badge up on me! Gorgeous card and lovely ephemera.

Yes all the Bible Journaling pages I do start out as a traced design of some sort, I'm certainly not able to do them myself, the water colouring is challenging enough. Couldn't actually trace on the tip-in so had to scribble pencil on the back and line out by drawing on the top of it. Will need to do the same with this weeks one on the back of my tip-in too. Here's where I go for it all as I watch a video about the water colouring too with the scripture devotion as well. https://www.devotioninaction.com/2023/07/05/training-in-godliness-1-timothy-4/
PS hubby doesn't just play Mr Fix-it he does actually Fix most things!

Evening Elizabeth, I'm late as usual. So many rocking horses! I was wondering who was the very first person who made a rocking horse or even rode on one. a So I google it they go back 400bc but the earliest one know to still exist is said to have belonged to King Charlies 1 and dates from 1610.Love your desk, I will try harder to get my craft room and desk, tidy. Happy WOYWW (Lyn) #17 I think!

Oh what a wonderful post I truly agree with your comments on our Host Julia she's so gracious and posting each week can sometimes be difficult, especially with out of are family visiting !!! Thanks for the visit, we were out and about earlier then entertainment in the park. The guy who sang at our wedding was the vocalist of the evening. He does a lot of 60's Elvis etc Always like the projects you share, and love all that paper of the rocking horses etc. What a treasure. I'd copy it and do a journal if you can't cut it up. Oh and I know what you've been through with water...YUCK a lot of hard work too. Our weather is so extreme the past 2 years. THOSE DERECHO's are devastating and seem to be a pattern of destruction. My son lost his home 2 years ago in that Southern Iowa one. Up north we finally got some good rain to help the crops. Was so dry and the WINDS man every day they are wild. Was so nice to have a calm evening for the Park time. They do that once a month. Free popcore, cotton candy, iced cones, and food vendors, we take our own lawn chairs and enjoy the entertainment. See people we haven't seen in a while. You enjoy a great week.
