Seaplanes

I'm back with another entry for Alison's (aka Craftytrog's) theme at Art Journal Journey.  By now you probably know she has chosen Come Fly With Me as her theme.

Bleubeard and I called this entry Seaplanes for an obvious reason.  It is also the Best way to see Alaska.

We even have a few detail shots.

I started this page by sewing the focal image to the vintage sheet music, rick rack, and 110 lb cardstock.  I have never sewed rick rack behind a focal image before and I quickly learned after I took the photo, that it was a bad idea.  It left a lump under the focal image.  Live and learn is what it's all about, I guess.

I computer generated the words, cut them out, and outlined them using a blue felt tip marker.

Bleubeard and I greatly appreciate you dropping by today.  We both hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own interpretation of Come Fly With Me.

Alaska is a place I would love to see. Sadly I don't think it will happen.

Alaska might be a tad too cold for me, but your work is inspiring!
One wants to hum along :-)

...we went up in a seaplane one fall in the Adirondacks, what a fabulous experience.

Maybe if I search for it on youtube I might be able to find a seaplane visit to Alaska. It's the only way I would ever be able to do that and it sounds marvelous! :)

Flying in a seaplane and visiting Alaska would be fun right now. That's a great photo and a fun idea for a page for Alison's challenge. The ric-rac looks like water too, and is a nice addition. Has it cooled off any? Hope you're having a great weekend. hugs-Erika
