Paired

Today Bleubeard and I are back at Art Journal Journey.  We are hosting this month with our Recycling theme.  We look forward to seeing what you recycle, repurpose, or reuse.

I call this Paired because it's a play on words.  I have a few detail shots to share.

I started with a sheet of heavy scrapbook paper that had been given to me.  Several years ago I spent an entire day making shaving cream paper.  This is some of the last.  Luckily, it matched the first layer.  I added the focal image which I cut from junk mail.  I computer generated the word and adhered it to a piece of leftover paint chip sample.  Since I had another small piece of the paint chip sample left over, I cut it square, then turned it into two photo corners.

Bleubeard and I are delighted you dropped by today and hope to see what you have recycled, repurposed, or reused using our theme at Art Journal Journey.

Love the game! :-)
But I won´t go and try to buy some.
People run mad here - we won´t be able to buy anything come Monday!!!! PANIC-mode!
Ingo went extra-early and the shop was nearly empty already.
Or not stocked yet? People are dumb here..
Hope you have all you need for a Happy Easter :-)
(are your shops closed, too?)

That's such a calming photo. And I really like the play on words. Plus i like how you chose the dark plum color to layer, with just a splash (literally) of green on the book page. It's a really lovely piece. And you asked if my bees made it through the winter. No, I lost them by New Years. I still haven't autopsied the hive to see why, but my guess is that this sub-species just doesn't do well in the cold. This year I am trying 2 types of bees- the same sub-species I had and a new hybrid from Canada that is not only more tolerant but more disease resistant too. Hopefully I'll get them all through the winter, but time will tell. Have a great Easter and weekend. hugs-Erika
