Time to change our clocks

For those of us who live in Canada and the States, Daylight Savings Time ends today.  Image found on the internet.

Bleubeard and I have been given an extra hour today.  Maybe we can catch up with everyone.  You may know by now that Bleubeard and I are hosting Art Journal Journey this month and our themes are Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.

We are focusing on Witch Hazel, the herb.  We have created a few detail shots.

Witch Hazel is the first herb to be FDA approved.  It appears to reduce swelling and is often used in treating burns.

I created this page on Witch Hazel, which I believe can be considered a food, I found in The Farmer's Almanac.  I found several images that looked like they would fit nicely with the Witch Hazel and adhered them to the 110 lb cream cardstock.  I drew a frame around the page using my Sharpie extra fine pen.  I added the squiggly lines at the bottom I thought looked like those on the Witch Hazel plant.  I thought they would be too distracting if I carried them around the entire page.  I stamped the nameplate, then fussy cut and affixed it to the page.  I placed the botanical name of Witch Hazel inside the nameplate.

Bleubeard and I are grateful you visited today and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own take on Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.

  We are also joining AEDM.

Interesting!
We switched last weekend. I hate it. As does my watch. It fails to switch. POLAR fitness watch, loads but has no internet access again. So I happily stick with summer time :-)
A pain. "Daylight saving" is nonsense these days and just drives .. oh, I said this before right... young families, animals, esp cows do not enjoy this!

But thank you for the earworm, I´ll download the song :-)

we have a similar tree at our Arboretum. One of my favorites, Hamamelis mollis, also known as Chinese witch hazel. It si such a beauty when flowering.

We switched time last week. :( I wish they should stop this crazyness. :(

I like the botanical drawing look of your page. Time change, ugh. And I just heard the bill to remain on DST, was defeated in the House.

I wish they would choose one time and leave it alone.
Loving your page Enjoy your Sunday

Nice page. I like how you left so much white space as it draws your eyes to the little bits and pieces you added. Nice page. We have a lot of witch hazel shrubs (well stumpy trees) growing around here, so it's fun how your page related it to its uses. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! hugs-Erika

I do wish they'd leave the clocks alone! It's incredibly unpopular, these time changes, and I don't know why we can't fix that.

I have disliked changing the clocks since I was a kid. I see no reason for it. Our congress was suppose to pass a law to stop it but.... well they didn't. I always enjoy your art and how you put it all together. Have a lovely Sunday.

What a fabulous page Elizabeth! I love those images you used.
Thank you so much for getting me back in my art room, I made another page today.
Enjoy your extra hour, we had ours last weekend. I really wish we didn't put our clocks back, I hate it getting dark so early, around 4.30pm today.
Hope your weekend has been good.

I hate the early dark afternoons too, like Alison says,it's already dark by 4.30 pm Great page.

The Chinese Water Dragons have all died apparently, well the last one died earlier this year (must have been soon after I last saw it from working out the comments on the Kew Facebook page.) Very sad, I do miss them; it was always a treat seeing one.

I thought congress was going to stop this nonsense of changing the time back and forth--LOL! Oh well. Enjoy your week. :)

What a gorgeous autumnal picture opens your blog today. We had our hour at the end of October and it has made such a difference to my mornings.
Love all the white space you have shown us, it makes the various stamps stand out so.
Hugs, Neet xxx

Your page is brilliant Elizabeth, I love how you framed it too! I love light mornings but would rather have it stay lighter for longer in the afternoon, hugs, Chrisx
