I'm once again joining Elle from Empire of the Cat, our host this month at Art Journal Journey. Her theme is Fairytales, Folklore, and Fables - Tell Me A Story.
The question is, which is the poisoned apple?
This tale is part of the original Snow White and the evil stepmother Queen who wants to get rid of Snow White and once again be the fairest in the land.
After a couple of failed attempts to get rid of Snow White, the Queen dresses up as a farmer's wife and offers Snow White a poisoned apple. To convince Snow White, the Queen eats the white non-poisoned half and gives Snow White the poisoned red half. She immediately falls into a coma, from which even the dwarfs can't revive her.The dwarfs place Snow White in a glass casket and prepare for her funeral. Luckily, while on a hunting trip, a prince comes by and offers to take her back to her father's castle for a proper burial. While returning to the castle, a foot soldier carrying the casket stumbles and falls. This causes the poisoned apple lodged in Snow White's throat to dislodge and she is miraculously revived.
Granted, that is not the entire story, but I will leave that for others to explore.
I started this page using a piece of scrapbook paper, to which I added several apples. A couple of the apples came from a grocery flyer, which is the thinnest paper around. Sadly, the grocery paper buckled a bit. However, I think you get the concept of the page. If you can't read my handwriting (and I often can't read it myself), it reads "Which is the poisoned apple?"Bleubeard and I

You are too hard on yourself. I love your handwriting and am a big fan of fairy stories (though some are very gruesome).
This came out great and you could continue for today with this for mirror, mirror.
I already look forward to tomorrow´s fairy, maybe it is Snow White? (we never look it up on purpose)
Some years ago on Christopher Street Day we had one gorgeous Snow White :-)
He was all chubby and in such a great mood! He made everyone smile!

I’m trying to think of the possibilities for which Royal Family member resembles which character in the fairy tale. Queen Camilla IS a step-mother, but she doesn’t seem to have a strong enough character to play the role of the fairy-tale witch/step-mother. It does seem as if she bad-mouthed a younger princess, though. And in some sense (with the connivance of some of the others) banished her. But the parallels aren’t very good. Never mind.

I had a friend, as a child, who would have been perfect as Show White, she once dressed up as her and whenever I hear of this fairytale I see Gillian.

I think it came out great, and I didn't have any trouble at all reading your handwriting. I do think fairy tales are a great source for these projects. Like Iris Flavia above, I would like to see what you do with "Mirror, Mirror . . ." Have a great day.
