Friday Face off meets Friday Smiles 476

This is my entry for Friday Face Off, or FFO, which is hosted by Nicole aka DVArtist.  I can assure you, this is smile worthy.  Note the blue table and chairs in the background.  You will see those again.

My friend Joseph, who lives in California in the states, was explaining the various steel drum classes he was involved with over Zoom.

He is one of only 40 artists in the entire Los Angeles city and county to hold one of these prestigious positions.  Some artists are painters, some dancers, etc., but only one steel drum musician. I'm sure Annie (our host at A Stitch in Time) and the lovely ladies who join her each Friday at Friday Smiles will understand why I smiled the entire weekend.  I'll share more of Joseph on Tuesday for T.

While out back with Joseph, I noticed my geranium, which I had recently transplanted to save it,

had already started to bloom.  Happy dance!!

In this photo, I've started to clean the area.  I did this in stages so I didn't get too tired and overdo myself.

I began with the hand tools

then reached

for the big guns.  I do like my tools.

It may not be the choice of some

but I was quite pleased with this spot that was so different from the patio area.

I was also quite pleased with once again finding

my "drunken path"

and where it leads.

Thanks for visiting and spending a bit of time with Bleubeard and me this Friday.  Now PLEASE visit Annie and Nicole and don't forget to start your weekend with a smile.

That path is great. I love the design in it and how it leads you over to the table. It has some nice style to it also. All your hard work is paying off. And I like your tools. I splurged and bought myself a cultivator this year-rechargeable battery operated. It is a beast, but has been fun to use. And you must have really enjoyed having Joseph visiting. He looks very intent in his conversation. You can tell it is about something he loves. Have a great Friday and start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika

It sounds as though you had a lovely weekend with your friend Joseph.
You are sensible to pace yourself in the garden. It is hard work when you do too much in one go. I like your little area with the table and chairs. It is always good to have somewhere to take a break.
Don't over do it. Enjoy the weekend and the week ahead. Kate x

I'm glad you had such a good weekend when Joseph visited. He seems an interesting character. Steel drums are fun. When we lived in Bristol (UK) my hubby was often involved in drum workshops (He was a drummer) and I remember always being fascinated by the steel drums. We had a large Caribbean community in Bristol and they can play steel drums!
I love your little cosy corner with your blue table & chairs. And the drunken path is fabulous! I hope you get to use that area a lot.
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca

It's so nice to have a visitor, no wonder you kept smiling all the time. Your garden looks quite big and I know how much work is involved in looking after them and you are doing a great job. Pleased to see your geranium starting to flower, well done in keeping it alive. Enjoy your weekend my friend. Hugs, Angela xxx
