I fear this is catch-up day. I have so many things I need to share before the end of the month.
This is my entry for Friday Face-Off. It is polymer clay, my medium of choice. It's one I made when I wrote a tutorial on polymer clay. I'll try to have a new one next Friday. Nicole/DVArtist hosts and provides a link list.
Next, I'm sharing a journal page for Art Journal Journey. Matilde of Craftowanie is our host this month and her theme is Birds.
I've become fascinated with collage fodder. It's where I use bits and pieces I find that go together. They may be meaningless or they may carry a message. Regardless, the journal page I am sharing contains birds along with other collage fodder. Here are the detail shots.
My collage fodder is backed with 110 lb cardstock. The observant viewer will note the sheet music left over from last month's AJJ challenge. The birds came from a book my friend Ericka gave me for my bEARTHday. I fussy cut each bird and don't relish cutting wings, or even that tail, like that again anytime soon. Note my use of two types of washi tape, both with birds on wires. I also fussy cut the green plant from a painted book page. I used the grosgrain ribbon on another project and was not about to throw the band away that held it in place. A restaurant receipt and three stickers became collage fodder, too. Because I needed a bit of fodder, I cut the bottom of a note pad since it was green. I colored a book page and added it to the mix. I sewed everything in place using two different variegated threads. No glue was used to make this collage fodder journal page.
Thank you beyond belief for taking time to check out this journal page. Please also join me at Art Journal Journey, where the theme this month is Birds. Last Friday I promised the ladies at
Friday Smiles which is hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time), that I would update them and you on the status of what I laughingly call my back patio.
I tried to remember where I stood before. I'm a bit off, but this is what the patio looks like now.
I've already used the chiminea, so I know it is seasoned and will hold up another year.
I'm glad I decided to leave the plastic storage rack in place. It now holds those buckets that were so ugly on my patio. I can't do too much more because the rains have taken over. In fact, we are under a flood watch until noon today. That means this is all the update on the back yard I have this week.
That's it for my catch-up. Now for a few funnies.
Bleubeard found the last one funny.
Thanks for visiting and spending a bit of time with Bleubeard and me this
Friday. Now PLEASE visit Annie and don't forget to start your weekend with a smile.
One final question? Will anyone be making ICADs this year? I think it will be my 10th year.
20 thoughtful remarks:
Wow.
Good job on the patio - and thanks for the funnies.
Love your art. Here it´s a mix of sun and rain and I don´t know if to plant or not! (Day off here).
Cute funnies, too, have a great Friday, Elizabeth :-)
Your journal pages fascinate me. They are not my style of work at all but I can really appreciate the work that goes into them.
Well done forcontinuing the work in the garden when the weather allows. I hope you didn't get any majoy flooding. Kate x
I know exactly what you mean by collage fodder. I have a bag of that too. I use it mainly to send abroad to Postcrossing friends that aske for their card to be sent in an envelope. I always add some ephemera.
Your collage is great. The fussy cut birds are beautiful. Well done.
I loved the cat funnies. Thank you. The kitties are lovely and the captions funny.
Happy Friday
and have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
Nice tag and nice page too. I love your collage fodder page. It is so fun to use up bits and pieces and layer them, isn't it? You had a great face of the otter, no not an otter, but a great face among the birds.I like the stitching too. What a super page for MAtilde's challenge. And your patio is looking good. It's always so exciting (at least for me) when I can get outside and fix things up. Have a great start to the weekend. Hugs-Erika
Nice face with the dreamy look. Your collage page is fun. The bluebirds of happiness don't look like they are making the raccoon happy. Love those birds on a wire. I hope your garden survives all the rain. Take care.
Checking out all you have posted and like your clay face a lot. It IS serenity! ☺️
I love seeing your back! It's fun seeing where people live and play.

I LOVED all your cat memes! Made me smile, smiles being in short supply of late. The patio is looking great. That's something I wish I had here at home -- a nice patio. Even a bad patio. Fortunately Rick has one, which is good. But it would be nice to step out in the morning and just enjoy. Three cheers to you. And thanks for your visits -- I know it's been hard for you lately. I'm always grateful.
You created a beautiful and unusual page for the birds challenge. And the polymer clay tag is fabulous. Nice cat funnies, too, I visited my neghbour's cat today. Have a great weekend, Valerie
I love your collage and your garden is looking good. For some reason the funnies wouldnt load on my computer??

I love the face's expression. Collage is my favorite. Yours is nice!
I like your patio space. It looks like a pleasant place to sit.
Hi Elizabeth you have a wicked sense of humour they are so funny. Loving your journal page and that very sweet face too. Your patio is lovely. It's great to see where you live, the houses are so different from those where we are and I feel almost like I'm there with you. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx
Your Face Off Friday entry has such a sweet face!
The journal page looks lovely! And the stitching gives a lovely balance connecting it all together.
Nice patio arrangement! I love the splashes of greenery.
LOL — love the meme about humans becoming like cats.
Have a great weekend, Elizabeth, and stay safe from floods,
Serena x
Fab journal page Elizabeth. Love the collage fodder - super fun all combined so well. That clay face is cool too.
So fun to see your back porch - mine is so uninteresting! I may do something with it this year (I say that every year).
Funny pics - love the last one too.

Hi Elizabeth! I love your clay face! Your back patio looks very cozy. The journal page is pretty. I was looking at the trail cam photos yesterday and saw that we have a raccoon visitor every night, your journal page reminded me of that! Have to make sure the garbages are well secured! ☺
Really fun AJ page! I love the collage you've worked into with the birds! Really beautiful tag with your shimmer too! TFS your fun post!! :)
Your journal page is lovely and I almost missed that green bird. Your second picture made me look again and this time I saw it.
Love your patio, I hope you get to spend many happy hours sitting there and doing whatever you find best to do out of doors.
Hugs, Neet xxx
Wonderful art Elizabeth, I love your collaged page and that fabulous face!
Your patio is looking great, and thanks for the funnies.
