Bird song

I'm back joining Matilde of Craftowanie, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.  By now you more than likely know her theme is Birds.

I'm calling this Bird song because of the washi tape I used.  I scanned this, even though my scanner is on its last leg.  I have a few detail shots to share.

I began by laying down crackle medium on two adjoining pages of my Coll-AH-ge Two altered book.  When completely dry, I colored the pages using my yellow and orange water soluble crayons.  For the right side, I backed the image with black 140 lb. cardstock, then affixed it using a glue stick. I then glued the washi tape to the page.

For the left side, I cut the images from the back of a calendar and affixed them using a glue stick.

Bleubeard and I are absolutely thrilled you dropped by today and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey where Matilde's theme this month is Birds.

Just beautiful. I particularly like the sunflowers that sing of Ukraine to me...

Yes, I go with Elephant´s Child.
Can´t believe what´s going on in Ukraine and your work gives hope.
Love the yellow background, too, and how the page "waves up".
Your ole scanner did a good job, too, hope it wasn´t the last one (I have Ingo´s here and I think it must be a Granpa by now, too!)

I think I’ve seen living versions of several of t hose birds recently. They are beautiful creatures, and I especially like the ones that are brightly colored.

Sweet spread. We saw a bluebird earlier this year. Calli and Quill are enjoying watching the birds at the feeder.

Nice selection of birds today dear Elizabeth. And flowers too. I also like the barely peeking through print. I am so missing my acrylic paints, but I don't dare paint on my temporary work table since it's all "better" furniture. Soon. These are pretty pages for Matilde's challenge. Have a great weekend. Hugs-Erika
