Today Bleubeard and I are back with another journal page for Art Journal Journey. Our theme is Whats Your Style?
I found the image, an ad, in a high end slick (magazine) several years ago. I cut it out and laminated it on both sides using clear packing tape.
I outlined the stencil after I sprayed around it using one of my handmade shimmering mists.
I started this page laying down two colors of Staz-on reinkers with 91% isopropyl alcohol. When dry, I laid my stencil I described above over the background. I then spritzed one of my handmade shimmering mists around the masked stencil. When the mist was dry, I drew around the stencil using a black fine tip Sharpie.
Next, I computer generated the words and colored them using watercolors. I outlined the words using the Sharpie after they were glued in place. Next, I stamped the belt around the woman's waist. I thought it was tedious, so I grabbed a bottle of fabric paint with an applicator tip, I used to create the necklace and the ankle bracelet. Finally, because I thought it needed something more, I smeared bits of pink acrylic paint mixed with molding paste on the page. Finally, I added the washi tape to the bottom of the page so the woman would have something to stand on.
Although it's not my normal style, since I have multiple media (staz-on reinkers and alcohol for background, handmade stencil, handmade mist using mica powders, acrylic paint mixed with molding paste, fabric paint, watercolors, washi tape, and Sharpie pen), I am also joining Creative Artiste at their February challenge.
Bleubeard was bored and decided it was time for a nap right after I sprayed the mist on the page. However, he and I
are delighted you joined us and hope to see you at Art Journal Journey with your own interpretation of What's your style? which for us today is all about handmade, which included the stencil and mist, along with my background, as well as Creative Artiste with their Anything Goes theme.

Beautiful piece, Elizabeth, love the sentiment, too. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie
Great sentiment - expressed beautifully.
She reminds me of a cat-lady for sure...
A wonderfully unique stencilled lady, gorgeously warm colours and a fabulously inspirational sentiment all come together brilliantly to create your eye-catching page Elizabeth. It's a style you should proudly own.
Thank you for joining in with our February challenge "Anything Mixed Media Goes" at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck x

Fun page and a fun way to make a stencil.
She's got attitude, doesn't she! Love the beads :)
Fun lady. I like this stencil you made. I like the colored background too, and how you gave her a necklace and a belt. She is perfect for your style challenge, and she is very creative too. I hope you are having a great start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika
I like this very much. Especially the colors.
What a great idea to cut out and laminate the figure, useful for creating in so many ways and she has great composure. Love the chosen words and the splats around her, I really like both colour and style.
Thanks for joining us this month @ Creative Artiste Elizabeth.

Brilliant! I love this stylish lady and your background has a real zing to go along with her stance! The quote of course is one to live by! Hugs, Chrisx
This is fun and I love the colors! Hope Bleubeard (and maybe you?!) had a good nap!
I think your lady has attitude. Hands on hips and stylish hair do.
Impressive that you made this stencil yourself ad the sprays too.
