Paris

It's time to join Wendy, our host this month at Art Journal Journey, with her theme which is Vintage.

There's nothing more beautiful or romantic than Paris.

There are the stately old buildings.

There are old clocks and signs on shops.

And of course, there is the iconic Eiffel Tower.

I started this 110 lb. cardstock page using my go-to background using black Staz-on reinker and 91% isopropyl alcohol.  I stamped the large Paris collage stamp using dye ink, but it didn't stamp properly.  I had to hide my mistake by turning the page upside down and stamping a second time, with only marginally better results.  However, I decided I wasn't going to waste the page, so I placed the focal image over the failed first stamping.  I then added three vintage gold photo corners that were removed from a 1910 book that originally held photos.  I spent a long time looking for paper that was the same color blue as that on the windows.  When I was finally satisfied I had a compatible color that would work, I stamped the Paris Eiffel Tower in gold on the paper.

Thank you beyond belief for visiting today.  Bleubeard and I are delighted you dropped by and hope to see you soon at Art Journal Journey with your own take on Vintage.

What pretty cards today! And what a beautiful building featured. I love the masonry on the old fancy buildings. Wish they still did that!

This is gorgeous architecture on today's page Elizabeth. Makes me want to travel some place far off from New England. Smile. The Paris stamp with the clock is a beauty. And it is perfect for this page too. Oh to be off to Paris and no Covid. That would be great, wouldn't it? Have a super Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

Paris is definitely a very special place, and it's amazing how when you walk around you see these amazing old buildings, and often also small gardens around them. I hope we will be able to get back there soon, but right now there's not much chance to go there. Luckily our most recent trip there was not that long before the pandemic.

Lovely blend of vintage things for the challenge, but I would not want to wash all those windows!

I often find big collage stamps are difficult to get a clear image with so I think you have done an admirable job with this one.
I too love the architecture of the old buildings, I love the buildings on the corners of streets that shout 'perspective' when you look at them. In fact there is so much I like about Paris, and yes, it is a romantic city.
I found it remarkable that you had matched the blue for the Eiffel Tower up so perfectly with your picture above, brilliant|!
Oh Elizabeth your page has taken me back to this beautiful city - thank you.
Hugs, Neet xx

This is really beautiful. I have always wanted to go to France. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I have done an enormous amount of canning. I have run out of room to store it. LOL
