The room of shame

It all started when one of the blogs I visit daily (and at this point I don't remember which or I would give them credit, or possibly a dirty look) mentioned they have their die cutter in a dedicated position.

Although I have practically no dies, except tags, I never used my die cutter because it was in an inconvenient spot.  Where it was located, it became a storage area.

It's also obvious it was so high over my head, I simply never got it down because I was afraid I would drop it.

But all that changed after I got a bee in my bonnet.

In the process of moving the die cutter, I also moved a lot of other things, including the craft supplies I brought home my friend Sally gave me.

I had messes everywhere.  If you've visited my blog for any length of time at all, you know I can't tolerate messes.

This was a full day's effort and it still isn't clean or tidy.

However, I have to admit, it is now at a doable level of quick clean-up

At least the big messes are gone, even if I still need to clean the floor.  And the die cutter finally has a dedicated home.

Thanks for dropping by today.  I am delighted you visited to see my room of shame.  Bleubeard and Squiggles are not allowed in here because I don't want kitty fur in my paint and ink.

You had me laughing so hard - looks like my Hubby´s room and surprisingly he always finds what he needs. You guys are genius!
I also don´t feel that bad about my lille mess.
Aw. You have a place for your sewing machine! I can only use the kitchen table.... it "lives" on the floor by the balcony-door, hence.

This is not a room of shame, Elizabeth. It is a great craftroom. And I LOVE the beautiful dresses, like a garland, on the wall. Kisses!

Well done you.
Just at the moment it feels as if my house is a house of shame. Which is doing my head in.
One step at a time I guess...

Hi Elizabeth, good morning! It doesn't look that bad, really. My mess is unfortunately worse, and I can't seem to bring myself to tidy it just now. Hopefully soon! Remember what Einstein said - an empty desk is a sign of an empty mind! Hugs, Valerie

Gosh your craftroom looks good to me. I wouldn't dare show my mess, it a case of close the door and hope a group of fairies might stop by. Its been months since I last opened space for crafting and it seems I have no urge to do so again soon, one day I hope.
Stay safe.

I think cleaning and organizing supplies is an evolving process. It takes awhile to find the most efficient spot for things. Kitty fur adds texture 😉😺

I use my die cutter quite a bit, so I try to keep it handy and free of clutter, but....so hard to do. I too love that garland of dresses. I’ve never seen anything like that before. It doesn’t take very long to make a crafty mess but I try to keep it tidy enough to work in. I don’t enjoy working in an 8” space. Ha! I wish I had a dedicated room like you do. That would be so nice.

I like your garland of little dresses and decorative crafts. By nature what we do makes a mess. So it becomes an ongoing task to try and keep order. I get to a certain point of messiness, and then just have to organize things before I can start something else. Good job!

Great job -- it is so hard to get through piles of valuable stuff. I can't begin to tackle some of the closets in my house. Nor the cardboard box tower in the basement, that really should mainly be recycled.

Very nice. I love your space. Mine is small and if one thing is out it looks like a mess. Have a great day today.

good job, my room is so tight that if I pull allot of things and don't get them put back my room is quite the mess. I am going through the same thing for a paper cutter I kept. but it is a hassle to get down from the cabinet to use, I like using it so my handmade cards look a little straighter. I need to see if I have a better place for it.

I think it looks great. I need a good cleaning as I have floor piles. You even have your sewing machine in your craft room. Mine is the dining room. What a great place to play. But glad you moved your die cutting machine to a usable spot. Hopefully it will work better for you and you can at least cut tags. Fun to see these photos of your craft space. It looks like you've been busy with art too. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

a craft room is not supposed to be...tidy...if that's the word your want to use; because if it were, it's a sign... no crafting is being done !!!

looks good to me :) ♥♥

I remember reading that post too but I can't remember whose it was. I have more than one diecutting machine and I have moved them several times, and heavy though they are, I will have to move them again as they are still not "handy". I recently swapped rooms and there is still clutter and floor piles and boxes that need to find somewhere to live but so far have not. Elle xx

Your room looks wonderful! Mine could do with a good tidy. But I do have my sewing machine and die-cutter out ready for action :-)

You have to have the mess before you have the tidy, when it comes to rearranging and cleaning things. Well done. It's a big project you did and the room looks terrific!
