It's time to once again join Erika, aka BioArtGal and Chris, aka Pearshapedcrafting our hosts this month at Art Journal Journey. Our theme this month is Inspired By (Eileen). It's also time for T Tuesday.
Today I want to share my summer garden with you. It all started with watercolors. I remembered how much Eileen enjoyed using watercolors, too.
I had planned to show the watercolors after they were on the page. Somehow I got carried away and wanted to finish before daylight.
I started this spread using 90 lb. watercolor paper. I used red, lavender, green, and black watercolors and added black or more green to the green, and black and red to the lavender. It was as much a study in mixing colors, as it was recycling items from my stash. Once the watercolors were dry, I added the paint chips I picked up a long time ago at the big box paint store. The tea bag came from one I drank during a recent T Tuesday. I deconstructed it by placing the tea leaves in one of my plants. Nothing goes to waste in my home. I tore it in half and placed it over the paint chips. I then used a tag from a different tea bag to write the sentiment. That's what gave me the idea to share it with you for T this Tuesday.
However, I can't show favoritism,
Let's start with my ceramic kitchen witch that lives in my refrigerator. I usually add baking soda, but I prefer to save my baking soda to stop rust in fabric I'm rusting.
Now all I had to do was find a place to set the bowl and let it spread its great scent and absorb any stale odors that are in the room. You may need to place several of these in strategic places in a large room. For best results, and to ensure the most freshness, I suggest you change the coffee grounds concoction every three weeks.
For Day 20 of 22, I recycled paint chip samples from my stash and a tea bag from tea I drank during a recent T Tuesday. I also recycled four 12-cup containers of dried freshly ground coffee grounds, spent orange peel, and some fresh rosemary from my herb garden. Thank you beyond belief for visiting today. I am very, very grateful you took time to visit and check out these recycling projects.
Now it's your turn to share your own drink related post. It can be
gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail
art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed
media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is
digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back
to a drink, any drink. Regardless,
please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T
gang will be by to visit. Please link only your T post and not your
blog in general. Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken
any time, not just on Tuesday and most assuredly not just this year.

Your kitchen witch is delightful. I have one, but she is purely decorative, not functional. I love your recycling of coffee grounds, too.
And once again, thank you for organizing this fun weekly blog event!

Love the kitchen witch. She's so cute. Interesting concoction for odors. You'll have to let us know how it works.
Happy T day!
As always, I love your background, I’m a klutz with watercolor! Little Witchy is too cute to be mean!
beautiful watercolor pages!! I love how the color swatches really show off the matching colors you painted. The tea bags are a great little touch as well.
Your kitchen witch is such a fun addition to your recycled coffee odor control mix. Great idea-thanks for sharing, and happy T day!
I have never heard of that use for coffee grounds!
You come up with such interesting things. :)
Your brass bowl is SO pretty! And I am liking your watercolor play on your journal page. A great way to remember Eileen.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Your summer garden page has all the colors of a beautiful garden. It is a wonderful abstract piece perfect for AJJ. I'm glad you shared it Elizabeth. And I also like how you recycled on the page too. It is perfect for this recycle month. And I like your kitchen witch. I have never seen one of these before, but she is wonderful almost Scandinavian looking witch. Good use for coffee grounds too. I haven't heard of them absorbing odors like that. No one in my house drinks coffee (well the husband will out or at work but doesn't make it at home), but I remember my parents used to put their grounds into their garden. There's so many ways to reuse things rather than throwing them out, isn't there? Thanks for sharing these, and have a great T day my friend. Hugs-Erika
Beautiful page Elizabeth. And interesting use of coffee grounds. We don’t drink coffee here though - it’s all about tea!
Beautiful watercolor garden and I adore you kitchen witch. Happy T Day
Love your summer garden!
And can´t wait for summer... 2 months 1 day to go!
And I joined you with recycling today, well, kinda, if cheese counts!
The witch! Hilarious.
Back in the old days people here put used coffee powder in their cars to get rid of the smell of smoking in there, but, really, the other day I saw a man smoking in his car.
Still so many smoke it´s weird...
How I love your kitchen witch. I can no longer drink coffee but still love the smell.
Love your abstract summer garden and your kitchen witch is delightful, what a lovely idea. Thanks for linking me to TsfT. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
Elizabeth it's a good job our GSs didn't see your witch, they would say it's Nan as my Birthday is Halloween and our eldest is convinced I'm a witch with special powers!!!
Your coffee grinds and orange peel sounds a great way to use them and in the garden, my parents would use tea leaves in the garden, they were supposed to be good for the roses I think.
Happy T Day, take care

I love your kitchen witch! Also the idea with the coffee grounds to absorb stale smells, I must try that. I also love your summer garden and how it matches the paint chips, I hope my garden will be this colourful this year! Elle xx
Love the mixture you made - what a fun idea!!!! Love that kitchen witch too. Beautiful AJ page made with paint chips, pretty colors, and tea bags. Lovely post!!! Hugz
Your summer garden is gorgeous. I love the colors, they speak of summer and I know that everyone is longing for summer. Clever you to learn how to mix water colors. I don't have a clue.
The witch is delightful. I see that the head comes off. Do you use it for something? I also love your brass pot. Very beautiful. It seems a good idea to use coffee granules as an air freshener. I remember my mother did something similar when I was a child. I think it was because she smoked. But then in those days practically everyone smoked. The tobacco companies certainly have to answer for getting the entire population addicted!
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
What wonderful colours you have used for your Summer Garden page. I love your Kitchen Witch - what a shame she hides away in your refrigerator. I love the idea for your room freshener - may have to try that! Happy T Day. Hugs, Chrisx
Those are such pretty colours you have used in your journal - I think you have been planting some sweet peas for that is what those pretty pastel colours remind me of.
Love that witch you have, she is gorgeous. How strange that Jo has just reminded me of my younger days in Burnley with her visit to Crown Point and you have taken me a few miles away to the Pendle area of Burnley where the witches once were.
Hugs, Neet xxx
Somewhere still unpacked I have "Uff-Da," my kitchen witch, but she is just stuffed. I do the coffee grounds also, but I just poke holes in the lid of a tin of coffee and place here and there. I shake them every few days to freshen the scent. I think the addition of the peel and rosemary would make such a wonderful scent.
I like watercolors but find them difficult. Great job!
I had a knitted kitchen witch but don't know what became of her. I love your ceramic one. I have a lot of used coffee grounds. This might be a fun activity for me, thanks! :)
nice color and like your kitchen witch's bowl!
Your brain works in wonders. Such beautiful art with recycled items. Ohh that the witch concoction. I am going to make that today. Have a great day my friend.
Your watercolor garden is so pretty. What a great use of the paint chips, adds a lot to the page. I will have to try your scent mix, I don't have a witch but I do have a nice bowl. I like the scent of coffee so it should work well for me.
What amazing watercolour pages! I love the colour combination and how you upcycled the paint swatches and recycled the teabags - beautiful 😀. The witch and her couldron of coffee with orange was such fun too. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
How clever about the kitchen witch and coffee grounds. The kitchen witch, by the way, is so charming! Your piece is so well titled -- it really does reflect the colors of a spring garden.
Interesting post as they always are. Yes, I had an endoscopic ultrasound, minor sedation, but a double tooth extraction on the 28th but that is a GA....so three in a matter of weeks, a bit much for the body...xx
