The first flower of spring

 

Update: I am now back online.  I received a robo-call today which scared me because I wasn't expecting the phone to ring.  The call told me my phone, and/or broadband (my internet), and/or my ATT TV were now back online.  I was one of approximately 4000 residents affected by an outage due to high winds that disabled ATT's box that holds the switches.  This has NOTHING to do with my modem problem that I had starting on Friday of last week.  ATT is reimbursing me for the days I was offline.  This was the gist of the robo-call.  While offline, I learned my county/state is now loosening their vaccine requirements, so I will be on the phone hitting redial until I get an appointment, or they shut off their phones for the day.

 

For my final entry for Sheila, aka Orange Esmeralda's theme at Art Journal Journey, I'm sharing my first flower of spring.

And because Try it on Tuesday's latest challenge is Hello Spring, I'm joining them, too.

My first flower of spring

is colorful.

It has a nice strong stem.

It is definitely the first flower of

Spring.

It is quite pink.  In fact, each leaf has two shades of pink.

Because this is the last day of the month, I was pleased to be able to use my date stamp.

 

For this page, I started by coloring several backgrounds onto 110 lb. cardstock.  Unfortunately, every background I created took away from the pink flower petals I had already cut freehand and colored with two different colors of pink Sharpies.  That's when I decided that less was more in this case.  I used a green Sharpie to draw the stem and the pink Sharpie to write the sentiment.

I actually spoke too soon.  When I checked last Wednesday, not only did I have the original red, white, and blue hyacinths I originally purchased, I also now have a gorgeous pink one that came from who knows where.  I'm thrilled.
