Friday Smiles 411: Celebrating St. Patrick's Day

It's Friday, which means it's time to join Annie (at A Stitch in Time) along with the wonderful ladies at Friday Smiles.  I almost didn't post again today.   It's because I plan to be gone all day.  I'll be getting the stitches out of my face and they are giving me a complete physical.  The clinic that called said to expect 10 to 12 hours.  I can't imagine why, but I'm not going to complain.  However, that means I won't be near a computer until late tonight, so I won't be able to visit until then.

I've started decorating my home for St. Patrick's Day, but this is as far as I've gotten so far.

To continue the theme, here are a few St. Patrick's Day jokes.

Q: What is out on the lawn all summer and is Irish?
A: Paddy O'Furniture!

Q: What do you call a fake stone in Ireland?
A: A sham rock.

Q: Why do people wear shamrocks on St. Patrick's Day?
A: Regular rocks are too heavy.

Q: How can you tell if an Irishman is having a good time?
A: He's Dublin over with laughter!

Q: What does a leprechaun call a happy man wearing green?
A: A Jolly Green Giant!

Q: When is an Irish Potato not an Irish Potato?
A: When it's a FRENCH fry!

Q: Why did St. Patrick drive all the snakes out of Ireland?
A: He couldn't afford plane fare.

Q: What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover?
A: A rash of good luck.

Q: What do you get when you do the Irish jig at McDonalds?
A: A Shamrock Shake.

Q: Knock Knock. … Who's there? … Irish. … Irish who?
A: Irish you a happy St. Patrick's Day!

Now let's head over to Annie's our beloved host.  And whatever you do, please don't forget to start your weekend off right with a few Friday Smiles of your own.  If you would like to play along, Annie would love to have you join us.  Remember to stay safe, wear a mask, and smile. And don't forget, I won't be by until late tonight (which is tomorrow for my international friends).

After the 10-12 hour ordeal that faces you today, don’t even look for your computer tonight! Just call it a day. Good luck with it all!

Thank you for the giggles! I have only a few of the little tags I make for St. Pat's as decor this year. I am so tempted to try to get some of the half-off decorations after the day, for next year. I hope your doctor visit is going well. That is a LONG time to be away from home and at a medical office! I think COVID has slowed everything to a crawl. Hope it's all over and you are safe and warm by the time you read this. ~Holly~

Hope everything goes okay for you today. We enjoyed the funnies but there was a lot of face pulling and "oh dear's" at the Corny ones Lol! Happy weekend, Angela xXx

I enjoyed your jokes. I's send them to Chris (my hubby down in his 'office'. His family are all from Eire, and I have Irish roots too, but we don't usually do much for St.Patrick's day. I may make him an Irish stew, but Guinness doesn't do all that well in the heat out here.
Hope the stitch removal and physical go well for you. Kate x

Hello Elizabeth. I hope everything went well for you today.
Thanks for your jokes.
I’ve got a good Irish joke but you have to see and hear it in person.

Your St.Patrick's decorations are very cute. I hope you have some good refreshments. I usually don't celebrate this holiday, as beer is not my thing, but long ago I liked the St.Patricks offering from See's Candy described as "A scrumptious, sumptuous seasonal treat. Our luscious Divinity filling is enrobed in milk chocolate, then rolled in a cocoa-cinnamon blend and topped with pine nut “potato eyes.”

Good luck with your long day at the doc's. I hope you come through with a very clean bill of health.

Ten to twelve hours? Yikes! Now that's a physical. I hope you have a very big book to bring along -- and I wish you only good things with the visit and your results.
