Christmas tip-ins revealed

Before we begin, I want to apologize for not posting every day like I normally do.  I want to make it perfectly clear, the operation I experienced had NOTHING to do with my eye.  That is why the vision surgeon sent me to a surgeon they keep on call in case something happens in their (the vision specialist's) surgery.   He felt the problem was severe enough to warrant, if nothing else, a second opinion.  The surgeon he sent me to, a general surgeon who performs emergency surgeries, decided to operate to drain the fluid from UNDER my eye, not IN my eye.  I still don't know why or how it happened, and I keep having trouble finding out, since I can't get the general surgeon to call me back with answers to my questions.  Apparently my eyes are both fine and I don't need surgery on the iris that was torn when a rock hit my eyeball.

Now that we are all on the same page, here are my wimpy tip-ins I created for 2020.  I still need to send three to friends in Europe, but everyone in the states and Canada have now received theirs.

I began by creating my favorite backgrounds using Staz-on re-inkers and 91% Isopropyl alcohol.  They dry before you have finished painting the next sheet and they dry flat, too.  I love this technique, but haven't used it for awhile because I have limited alcohol.

Next, I got out my dye re-inkers

and a clear acrylic block that I covered with several wet wipes.  From there, I created my own dye ink pad.  Here is the ink pad I created for the trees on one side of the tip-ins.

I used a slightly different set of dye inks for the reverse side of the tip-ins.

When all images had been printed, I cleaned the acrylic block and put it away.

Here are the two sides to my 2020 Christmas tip-ins.

As I explained before, these are my least favorite tip-ins I have ever created.  I hope to do better for my 19th annual tip-ins next Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I greatly appreciate your continued support of my blog, even though I haven't been able to visit many of you for several days.

They may be your least favourite - but they look pretty damn impressive to me.

So sorry to read what you've been through this year you do an amazing job just getting in front of the keyboard let alone in the craftroom. I'm glad the fluid was discovered early now take time to rest so you can get to where you want to be with your creative sharing. Isn't it great to revisit old techniques those re-inkers leave a bold print when used to stamp with. Stay well Hugs Tracey x

Looks like a fun project ~ I have lot's of re-inkers and don't know what to do with them besides the obvious so this looks like a neat technique to try. I hope this means means you officially on the mend ~ Have a creative week!

I just hate when doctors won't answer calls and questions. I guess I'm still waiting for the surgeon to call back from after my appendectomy around 20 years ago (my GP took care of me so I'm not really waiting). I wish you good luck with an easy recovery -- and I repeat what everyone says: don't worry about us, take care of YOU!

Wow! A lot can happen in a week. I am very glad to hear your eyes are fine! Five staples sounds like a pretty big incision. I’m glad they knocked you out. Take care and get lots of rest. If the surgeon is the one who takes the staples out maybe he’ll give you the answers then?

In all honesty, I have trouble keeping up with daily posters. So from that perspective, I haven't missed and yet I was wondering about your eye (or under) and hoping that you were on the mend and glad to hear it. I love seeing your tip-ins. That tree has really great lines!

It's good when the doctors work so well together and can get issues managed so quickly. I like your tree shape and its background. Nice!

I declare, I'm looking at your posts and feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone - seriously! All this stuff has been going on, and I have had no clue. I've been working on some military matters which have taken me off line some, causing me to not blog or visit as I normally would. I'm sitting here nearly in tears that you're suffering and in pain. My hugs are going out to you, and I know your babies are there watching over you because they just know when we need them the most. Please feel better soon. Hugs, RO
