T Stands For A Return To Riverside Cafe

My foodie friend Sally asked me to pick a restaurant to visit a few weeks ago, so all I could think of was Riverside Cafe, a greasy spoon in my neighborhood.

I was looking for statues after the youngsters from CA. left at the end of summer.  I had written a few addresses down of the ones I had learned about from the internet.  Sally was getting ready to take a look at the list when I asked her to smile.

I swear this is the exact same expression I've seen on Chris's husband's face when the camera was pointed his way.   Here are our waters, both with lemon.

I had intended to get a breakfast, but at the last minute, changed my mind and ordered an egg sandwich on rye.  I had NO idea the "chef" was going to throw some tomatoes in the sandwich, though.

I think I liked the fries better than the sandwich.

I liked it even better that I got a big bowl of ranch dressing in which to dip my fries and sandwich.

Sally got a breakfast of 2 pancakes, two eggs and three strips of bacon.  I think I got the better deal.  I swear the waitress gave her enough pats of butter in which to swim six pancakes.

It's now time to share your own drink related post this week.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, ATCs, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday, and not just this year.

This is Day 5 of Art Every Day Month (AEDM),
and I hosted a drink party complete with links.

Sally looks so pretty when she smiles. Your food looks good, and now I am hankering after eggs and bacon although it's bed time here, and I must wait a long time till breakfast! Happy T day, Valerie

You're right, Elizabeth. I've seen that look before on Chris' blog. Your sandwich looks delicious to me. I love tomatoes. We're having lasagna for dinner tonight. Not made by me, but my favorite chef, Kirkland.

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

They probably should have asked if you wanted tomatoes or not on your egg sandwich, I would have liked that though (but no bread) those f rench fries look delicious-I use mayo for my fries. I agree about Sally andChris's husband, and she does have a lovely smile Happy T Kathy

My Aunt Vada and I used to visit a restaurant in Hannibal, MO. a few years ago. She has that same smile and glitter in her eyes.

What a delightful time.

Hello, Elizabeth. I tried and tried to link to your party from my blog, and it wouldn't do it. I was afraid it wouldn't work in reverse either, but it did. :) The food looks great today! Or should I say yummy! :)Happy T Day!

I have very particular places that tomatoes are acceptable...I'm not sure an egg sandwich would be one of them.

That food sure looks delicious. That looks like my type of going out to eat, or at least my favorite meal to go out and eat. And you made me laugh with the comment about Sally's expression. It is a really good photo of her. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

Never heard of tomatoes on an egg sandwich before. You and Sally always seem to have a good time wherever you go. :)

I already commented but for some reason it disappeared and I had to sign in my blog again, at least it let me in this time.
I love eggs and tomatoes but not together , the fries look delicious but we would have to share that meal, we find them just too much for one,
Have a great week Elizabeth, Jan x

So nice to start the day looking at a smiling face :-)
Ewww, I had that on the plane often, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, yuck. It´s just a bad combination, I think.
Even if it´s "just" lemon water, the glasses remind me of the movie Forrest Gump where Forrest has so many Dr Pepper cokes that he said to the president´s question how he´s doing: "I gotta go pee" :-)

I'm with you about tomato on a fried egg or any cooked egg for that matter.
I still think about egg and tomato sandwiches my mum always made for me to take on school trips the filling always slid out of the bread. yuk.
Sally has a lovely smile, her order looked good as well.
Happy T day wishes.

No one does food quite like the Americans, Elisabeth - I was always amazed at the strange (to me) combinations offered and the obvious enjoyment of 'mixing it up'. The food looks overwhelming! Hope you enjoyed your statues.

I wouldn't mind tomato on my andwich. In fact it looks really yummy. well, each to his own as they say. If we all liked the same things, it would be a boring world.
What a delight to see Sally smile! She looks like she will enjoy this breakfast!
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

I take it you don't like tomatoes? Or is it you didn't want a tomato in your egg sandwich? I wouldn't want a tomato in my egg sandwich, especially if I was having it for breakfast. Fried egg on rye sounds delicious. I probably would have gone with Sally's breakfast though I skip the butter and try not to drown the pancakes in maple syrup. Happy T Day!

My Mom's name was Sally. You don't hear that name very often and seeing all the food and her photo reminds me of all the times mom and I ate out.
I will have to look to see if I have a drink related photo for you link. Thank you for your answer to my question on my Shock Art.

Fantastic smile for this T-Day!
The food today would not be something that makes me happy in any way but that doesn't matter. As I ate out the last time the only thing they could offer me was fried potatoes with potatoe salad... boring, but it is always nice to eat with friends together. It was a fish menue day there at this restaurant.
I am sure it will all become better for me by time.At least we had World Vegan Day last Friday!
